Our classes run 6 days a week for 2 hours a day, with a break in the middle for lunch. This short school day leaves enough time for the children to attend other classes, to work around the house and to practice their music, dance and other commitments.
We would like to say a big thank you to Kate for providing food for the children for the next month. That's 20 full and grateful bellies! 💜
Kartal class for the little artists in training!
BIG thanks to Sam for giving his time to the class even though he was nearly passing out, with what was later diagnosed as Dengue. Get well soon Sam!
"Life is not about waiting for the storms to pass. It's about learning to dance in the rain."
Here are two of our students ready for anything in their orange ponchos, not letting the weather get them down!
Pushkar is underwater! Monsoon time is difficult. It's impossible to keep everything dry, and there is water everywhere. A lot of the children have stomach problems from contaminated water. We are supporting our families through this monsoon time with food parcels, medicine and other support.
A food parcel for one family (containing rice, vegetables, spices, oil, chapati flour, lentils and some fresh vegetables) costs £7/€8/$9 for a week, and we have 20 families, so please get in touch if you would like to help us through the next few weeks. .
Happy Birthday to Lucky!!!

It's off-season and monsoon in India.
The families of the children in our tuition project rely on tourists for their work, dancing at hotels, holding dance classes and selling their beaded jewellery. With nobody to perform for or sell to, they are having to go to money lenders to borrow money to pay for food. These lenders charge 20% on every loan, which is really hard to pay back and often results in families having to borrow more money to pay off the original loans, getting them into a horrible cycle of debt which is very difficult to get out of.
We would like to make the monsoon season a bit easier for them by providing weekly food parcels.
The 20 children are split between 7 families, and we would like to give a parcel worth 500 rupees (£5/€7/$9) containing oil, rice, flour, spices and vegetables.
Would anybody like to help us to keep our families tummy-full and out of debt until the new tourist season starts?
Message to find out how...
