Calvary Mount, also known as Kalvari Mount is an eco-tourism destination on the high reaches of Idukki District in Kerala. Calvary Mount is located about 12 kms away from Idukki.The Kalyanathandu viewpoint on Kalvari Mount offers stunning visuals of the serene waters of the reservoir between Kuravan and Kurathi Hills and the Idukki dam.
The hillock however, has a very steep slope and is mostly scaled by professional trekkers. As the road is rugged and the rocks are mostly slippery, it is advised to climb to the top only on foot. Do sit under the cupola and admire the majestic views of the waters below and the small islands within. This is a good place to take photos.You can also choose to your stay and enjoy surreal views of the adjacent dense green forest and sweeping views of the valley.
The Kalavari Mount presents an enticing picture of the Idukki reservoir from Idukki to Ayyappanccovil on one side and pictorial view of the quaint Kamakshy and Mariyapuram hamlets on the other side.The trekkers will be treated to a fascinating experience of low-hung clouds, cool breeze, occasional chirping birds, and hordes of sauntering elephants.There are cottages at the foothills of the mountain, were you can take Jeep Safari and Guided short trek...

Ellora caves in Aurangabad Maharashtra is a must see location, in life time, got the opportunity to visit this heritage site, several times, as my Earlier Job was in projects and got to work in Aurangabad from 1988 to 2000, used to take the colleagues there, who visited the project site.Ajanta caves is famous for caves having paintings and it is about 100 KM from Aurangabad, both locations can be covered in two days. Since I started Tik Holidays, have operated packages for several guests and recommend this Marvelous Heritage site, the traveller having real heritage interest.
