बाँज मेरे लिए मात्र एक पेड़ भर नहीं है जैसा कि आप सभी के लिए भी है वो एक जीवनदायी वृक्ष है , सोचिए उस मंज़र को जब पानी की खानों में ही पानी नहीं होगा तो क्या त्राहिमाम मचेगा , जब मुझे लगा कि मुझे बाँज के वृक्ष्यों पर एक गीत बनाना चाहिए तो मैंने कुमाऊँ की हमारी पारम्परिक लोक धुन पर आधारित इस गीत को चुना , इसकी पहली लाइन ही पारम्परिक है और गीत की बाक़ी लाइनें मैंने लिखी हैं , मेरा यह गीत हर उस पहाड़ वासी व प्रकृति प्रेमी को समर्पित है जो अपना संपूर्ण जीवन प्रकृति को समर्पित कर चुका था है या करने वाला है , तो आइए प्रकृति को संरक्षित करें बाँज ख़ुद ब ख़ुद संरक्षित हो जाएँगे .
