Angamardana

It is a very beautiful journey 💗 till now it's been 8 years taking one step at a time I still remember the first session of Angamardana I was very nervous but once I started teaching I didn't remember in between at some point it feels like I was just sitting there still and something else taking over and flowing through me it was so effortlessly happening that I feel very very light during sitting infront of the participants. I feel very blessed and humble to be able to do my bit to spread sadhguru's visions in this small of our Chatrapati sambhajinagar and beed let's make it happen lots of work still needs to be done.

First Angamardana session of 2024
Very happy to see a few more happy faces started their journey towards fitness and wellbeing.

The human muscular system is a phenomenal thing. What our muscles can do is fantastic. And this can be enhanced by strengthening them, but at the same time making them very flexible. If you do a lot of weights, your muscles will look big but without flexibility. If you see people who have grown big muscles, they cannot do a namaskar properly. They cannot even bend.

If you just want muscles that look good, these days there are easier ways to do it. You could get bicep implants. The silicon doesn’t go just into the breast, it goes into biceps, into calf muscles, into everything. It doesn’t matter that it is useless. You don’t have to work hard, take cortisone and hormones and go on pumping iron. There are easier ways, if it is just about looking good.

Yes, body-building gives you brute strength. But you can build the same strength in a completely different way and above all, keep your body flexible, which is very important. There are various aspects to wellbeing: health, energy, psychological and spiritual. When we invest 30 minutes to an hour in the morning, we want to see that the benefit is across the board for us, not just in bunched up muscles.

So, if you want to build muscle, should you not lift any iron? You could, because physical exercise and activity have been taken away from our lives by modern technology. We don’t have to carry a bucket of water, or this or that. Everything is done by machines. Except your iPhone, you don’t really have to carry anything, isn’t it? So, since you are not using your limbs throughout the day, light weight training is okay.

But Upa-Yoga involves the use of your own body weight to do exercises. Angamardana is just this: using your own body weight to do all the exercises. Then, you will have no excuse that there was no gym around. You can exercise wherever you are, because you still have your body. This is just as effective in building the body as any weight training is, and it will not create any unnecessary stress on the system. It will make you look like a sensible human being and strong.

Sadhguru, I sense a deep stillness in you, as if time itself has stopped, but there is an underlying current of great urgency also. What is this contradiction?

SADHGURU: Yes, that's how it is. This urgency can be both a great boon and a curse. In this urgency people will grow very quickly. At the same time, because of this same urgency, many people will drop off. They can't take this urgency. They can't take the speed. It seems almost like sheer madness. Many people who have been extremely close to me have fallen off, simply because they just could not take this urgency. The read somewhere that a Master is never urgent, but they find this one is too urgent and think it's crazy.

SEEKER: But, do we have to work as if there is no tomorrow?

SADHGURU: As if there is no tomorrow? Yes, there is no tomorrow. That's what you need to understand. You said it right; there is really no tomorrow. For a person who is walking the spiritual path, there is no tomorrow. Today is the day. When tomorrow comes, we will see about it. Whatever needs to be done, it has to be done now, and this is the moment. That is why this sense of urgency

The Yogasana program started today all seated are full

The word asana literally means a posture. Out of the innumerable asanas a body can assume, 84 have been identified as Yogasanas, through which one can transform the body and mind into a possibility for ultimate well-being. Yogasanas are not exercises, but rather very subtle processes to manipulate one’s energy in a particular direction. Hatha Yoga is offered as a set of 36 powerful postures, or yogasanas, to enable the system to sustain higher dimensions of energy.
In an untrained state, the human body is a constant manifestation of various levels of compulsiveness. By consciously forming the body into a certain posture, one creates a conducive passage for energy flow that can elevate one’s consciousness. Yogasanas are a way of aligning the inner system and adjusting it to the celestial geometry, thereby becoming in sync with the existence and naturally achieving a chemistry of healthfulness, joyfulness, blissfulness, and above all, balance.
