FAITH STOLEN - BREAKING NEWS
SURYA
This 9th Century Stone Image of God SURYA WITH ATTENDANTS, Stolen in February 1983 CE, From the Gopaleswore Temple Complex, Pharping, Has Been Located in the Collection of Purana Qila Museum, New Delhi, India.
The Insitu Photograph Was Published By Art Historian Lain Singh Bangdel, in His Book, "Stolen Images of Nepal, 1989 CE, Plate No. : 59".
The Insitu Photograph Was Also Taken By Art Scholar Jurgen Schick in 1981 CE & Published in His Book, "The Gods Are Leaving the Country : Art Theft From Nepal, 1998 CE, Plate No.. 25, 26 & 67" & Earlier in German Edition in 1989 CE.
Similarly, Art Scholar Ulrich Von Schroeder, Also Published it in His Book, "Nepalese Stone Sculptures, Volume-2, Plate No. : 412 C".
The Original Location of the Image Was Mentioned as 'Pharping' or 'In a Small Shrine in the Fields Near the Village of Kopugaon' or 'Chapagaon', By Various Writers. However, the Location Could Be Traced in the Gopaleswore Temple Complex, on the Way to Kopugaon From Pharping, With the Help of a Replica Image Established After the Theft.
The Latest Photograph Was Published By Archaeological Survey of India, in Their Exhibition Catalogue in 2012 CE, "Rediscovering India 1961-2011", Published on the Occasion of Celebration of 150 years of ASI, Plate No. : 182, as an Image From Rajasthan.
