Kalpathy Car Festival, Palakkad, Kerala

I would like to inform all in this group that, the famous Kalpathy Chariot Festival 2024 (Ratholsavam / Car Festival) will be conducting from November 13 to 15 2024. So anyone / group wish to enjoy this great festival, please make a plan accordingly.

Normally we know that, all the devotees (All the religions) will visit their own Temples / Churches / Mosques / Gurudwaras / Pagodas / Jain Mandirs etc. to worship in general. But in Kalpathy, the Deities (Shiva, Parvathi, Ganesh, Subramanian (Murugan) and Sri Krishna will come out of the temples and pass through the streets of Kalpathy by Chariots (Ratha's) and give darshan directly to their devotees on this specific Occasion (November 15 by Evening) as per the belief here.

Each deity has one Chariot (Ratham). Total 05 Chariots. All the deities will meet Shiva- Parvathi, in front of the main Shiva- Parvathi temple street by Evening on November 15, which is called a popular 'Ratha Sangamam'(Chariot's Meeting point / get together and also the meeting point / get together of all the deities). All the Gods from the 'Devaloka' (The World of Gods) will bless these deities and devotees at that specific moment. Later they will go back to their temples by night.

Meantime the Kalpathy Music and Dance Festival will be starting from November 1st week itself and the popular artists from many part of India will be participated to perform their ability here every year. You can try to spend at least a week to enjoy all these. I will be there to help you on prior intimation.

Kalpathy Chariot Festival Dates: November 13 - 15, 2024
'Kolam' Competition will be conducting in between. Ladies can participate the same.
Foreigners are allowed to enter inside the temple and also at the Sanctum Sanctorum as well
The temporary Street Shops will be available over there till December 1st Week every year (Optional)

A Must visit tourist hot spot in Kollengode, Palakkad.

As per Hindu Mythology, Lord Sri Ram, Sita Devi & Laxman were staying in this beautiful forest area during their 14 years of exile / Vanvas. Sri Ram made a pond here to take bath for Sita Devi. Kund means gutter. Sri Ram made this pond after making a gutter and hence this falls known as Seetharkund falls.

This falls is suited for all aged people. Anyone can take a bath over there . This is the perfect time to visit this falls. Because there is no much water over there due to less rain. Anyway tourists can also take bath in other side of this falls during heavy rain (Down area only). 👇
