Esplanade is inspired by all things Calcutta... named after a quaint, historic part of a city that has been a melting pot of cultures for many centuries. It is believed that no other Asian city has inherited and retained a culinary legacy in as much measure as Calcutta has.

From the Mughlai flavours in the courts of the Nawabs, to European cuisine brought on by the British Raj, to Chinese cooking in the bylanes of Tangra, this heritage city has embraced different styles of cooking over time in a way that one can trace these influences even in the traditional Bengali home today.
