चौरासी मंदिर भरमौर चम्बा (हि.प्र।)
चौरासी मंदिर भरमौर शहर के केंद्र में स्थित है और लगभग 1400 साल पहले बने मंदिरों के कारण यह धार्मिक महत्व रखता है। मंदिर परिसर-चौरासी के आसपास भरमौर में लोगों का जीवन चौरासी मंदिर की परिधि में बने 84 मंदिरों के कारण नामित हुआ। चौरासी संख्या चौहत्तर का हिंदी शब्द है। मणिमहेश की सुंदर वल्लभ-शिखर शैली की वास्तुकला परिसर के केंद्र में स्थित है। चौरासी मंदिर परिसर लगभग 7 वीं शताब्दी में बनाया गया था, हालांकि बाद के काल में कई मंदिरों की मरम्मत की गई। चौरासी मंदिर परिसर में 84 बड़े और छोटे मंदिर हैं।

चौरासी भरमौर के केंद्र में एक विशाल स्तर का मैदान है जहाँ ज्यादातर शिवलिंगों के रूप में मंदिरों की आकाशगंगा विद्यमान है। चौरासी मंदिर परिसर एक रमणीय, स्वच्छ और सुंदर दृश्य प्रदान करता है। उसी शैली में निर्मित एक और मंदिर भगवान विष्णु ने अपने नरसिंह अवतार में बनाया था।

चौरासी मंदिर का निर्माण भरमौर के राजा साहिल वर्मन ने किया था, 84 सिद्धों या योगियों के सम्मान में, जो कुरुक्षेत्र से आए थे और वहाँ ध्यान लगाया था, जबकि वे मनमहेश झील के रास्ते में भरमौर से गुजर रहे थे। उन्होंने राजा को दस बेटों और एक बेटी, चंपावती को आशीर्वाद दिया, क्योंकि उनका कोई वारिस नहीं था। ऐसा कहा जाता है कि धर्मेश्वर महादेव (धर्मराज) मंदिर हिंदुओं के सबसे पूजनीय लोगों में से एक हैं और देवी ब्राह्मणी के भरणी माता मंदिर के कुंड में स्नान करने के कारण मणिमहेश झील की यात्रा अधूरी है। भरमौर, हिमाचल प्रदेश। मणिमहेश कैलाश शिखर की मान्यता, उनके निवास स्थान और मोक्ष के वचन के कारण पूरा क्षेत्र और मंदिर भगवान शिव और शक्ति की पूजा के लिए समर्पित हैं।

Manimahesh Glacier Trek

The Glacier lies in the foot of Manimahesh Kailash between the Dhauladhar & Pirpanjal ranges of Himalaya is known as Manimahesh Glacier and trek to the frozen Manimahesh lake over glacier is named as Manimahesh Glacier Trek. This is one of the most popular and beautiful snow trek that you can do in short duration of three / four days. During summer time after trek for only 02 kms from main road head, you reach the snowline starting of the Manimahesh glacier. Most of the trekking route takes 3-5 days to reach upto snow line, but in this trek you will reach second day.
The name Manimahesh signifies a jewel (Mani) on Lord Shiva's (Mahesh's) crown Local people claim that the moon-rays reflected from the jewel can be seen from Manimahesh Lake on clear full-moon nights (which is a rare occasion). It is more likely to be the light reflected from the glacier that adorns the peak, like a serpent on Shiva's neck.
Manimahesh Lake is situated at 27 Kms from Bharmour(H.P.) at the foot of Manimahesh Kailash at elevation of 13500 feet from sea level. Lord Shiva is believed to reside on this snow-covered mountain. The lake and peak are considered sacred and a fair called as Manimahesh fair (Manimahesh Yatra) is held at the lake each and every year in the month of August and September. The Yatra held from Janamastmi to Radhastami each and every year. It is believed that on this occasion both Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati gets the dip in the Lake. For this holy moment lacks of peoples comes from the country and abroad to take holy bath in the Manimahesh Lake. Providing a rare occasion to see and study the customs and rituals of the local peoples. And the glorious view of Manimahesh Kailash touches the hearts of visitor in the morning and at the time of sun rising. Regarding Manimahesh Kailash it is said that no one has been able to climb to the peak. Local legends clarifying that people point out rock projections, human-like in appearance, and say that one is of a hermit, the other of a shepherd, frozen stiff during their futile effort to reach the top. Many holy places come in the way to Manimahesh, at the distance of 6 km from Hadsar, a Dhancho famous for water fall and after 5km from Dhancho Gourikund come. Gauri is another name of Parvati, the consort of Lord Shiva. A dip in this lake is considered sacred because it is believed that Parvati used to bath in this lake. About 200 meter ahead is the Shiva Kalotri spring-said to have its source in Lord Shiva's feet. After a short run reaches the Manimahesh Lake in this shallow circular lake gives it an enchanting appearance. A roofless temple, conspicuous with many iron trinkets, is seen on the opposite side. As per legends it is necessary to take bath in Brahmani's pool before Manimahesh Lake. To get the glimpse of Mani dharashan don’t miss this sacred visit. .
