Bhongir or Bhuvanagiri is a beautiful town and a municipality in Nalgonda district in the state of Andhra Pradesh, India. It is part of (Telangana region). Bhongir Fort was built on an isolated monolithic rock by the Western Chalukya ruler Tribhuvanamalla Vikramaditya VI and was thus named after him as Tribhuvanagiri.[5] This name gradually became Bhuvanagiri and subsequently Bhongir.
