Students of Indian Institute of Tourism and Travel Management (IITTM), Bhubaneswar received accolades for Outstanding Contributions at Pravasi Bharatiya Divas Convention.

The students of IITTM Bhubaneswar have earned widespread appreciation from Non-Resident Indians (NRIs) and government officials for their exceptional work as volunteers, coordinators, guides, and team leaders during the recently concluded Pravasi Bharatiya Divas (PBD) convention.

Their dedication, professionalism, and warm hospitality were praised by the delegates, who acknowledged the students' significant contributions to the convention's success. The students' involvement demonstrated their skills and knowledge in tourism management, event planning, and cultural diplomacy.

The Orientation Programme for Pravasi Bharatiya Divas Stakeholders was successfully organized by Odisha Tourism in collaboration with the Indian Institute of Tourism and Travel Management (IITTM) as the academic partner. This day-long orientation programme for Coordinators, Supervising Officers, Volunteers, Guides, and Facilitators was a warming-up for the upcoming convention.

The programme was graced by the presence of Deputy Chief Minister, Smt. Pravati Parida, Secretary Tourism, Shri Balwant Singh,IAS and Director, Tourism, Shri Samarth Varma, IAS alng with Prof. (Dr) Sabir Hussain, Nodal Officer and Centre Head, IITTM Bhubaneswar, Prof. (Dr.) Adyasha Das, Coordinator, Pravasi Bharatiya Diwas 2025, Mrs. Sharda Ghosh,Principal, IHM.

The dignitaries addressed the participants, emphasizing the importance of their roles in making the Pravasi Bharatiya Divas (PBD) a grand success.The orientation programme equipped the stakeholders with the necessary knowledge, skills, and best practices to ensure a seamless and enriching experience for the diaspora community attending the PBD.

The inaugural programme of the three day Pravasi Bharatiya Divas (PBD) Convention was successfully held at IITTM Bhubaneswar campus on 18th December 2024. The Pravasi Bharatiya Divas Convention holds a special place in India’s calendar as a celebration of the achievements, contributions, and enduring connections of the Indian diaspora. It is not just an event but a powerful platform for fostering dialogue, collaboration, and the exchange of ideas between India and its global community. This training programme marks a critical step in ensuring the successful ex*****on of this prestigious convention. The sessions planned will equip the participants with the requisite skills, knowledge, and perspectives to create a seamless, enriching, and impactful experience for delegates from across the world. The Guest of Honour, Sharada Ghosh, Principal IITTM ’s insights and vision inspired the students. The inaugural event ended with renewed commitment to excellence, knowing that the efforts today would contribute to an event that strengthens India’s global ties and showcases its cultural, economic, and intellectual heritage.

Training Programme for" Particularly Vulnerable Tribal Groups (PVTG) Youths on Ethnic & Eco-Tourism Facilitation” has been organized by Department of Tourism, Govt. of Odisha in association with Indian Institute of Tourism & Travel Management, Bhubaneswar. The training has been scheduled to be held from 17th to 21st December 2024 at Tumudibandha , Kandhamal Odisha. The training programme was inaugurated on by Smt. Basanti Majhi, Chairperson, Tumudibandha Panchayat Samiti in presence of Shri. Gobind Chandra Das, Additional BDO, Tumudibandha, Mr. Sontash Sahu-Vice chairman, Ms. Swapnamayi Sahu-BRC. Dr. B. Swajan, Coordinator of the training welcoming the delegates and participants and threw the light on the purpose of organizing this training programme. All the Dignitaries and Participants are very happy and exited about the training programme.

IITTM Bhubaneswar conducted the Training Programme for" Particularly Vulnerable Tribal Groups (PGTG) Youths on Ethnic & Eco-Tourism Facilitation” was organized by Indian Institute of Tourism & Travel Management, Bhubaneswar in association with Department of Tourism, Govt. of Odisha .The training programme was successfully conducted from 12th to 16th December 2024 at KKDA, Belghar (Batch-1) , Kandhamal District. The Training programme was inaugurated on 12th December 2024 by Smt. Basanti Majhi, Chairperson, Tumudibandha Panchayat Samiti in presence of Shri Nabin patra, Zilla Parshad Member, Shri Banabihari Harpal, BDO, Tumudibandha Block, Shri. Gobind Chandra Das, Additional BDO, Tumudibandha, Shri Deepak Kumar Sahu, WEO, KKDA. Coordinator of the Programme Dr. B Swajan, was given a brief note about the training programme. Overall the Training Programme was highly Sucessfull all the participants and dignitaries appreciated the efforts of IITTM Bhubaneswar. The certificates was distributed on the day of valedictory on 16th December 2024.

The Tourism Orientation and Life Saving Techniques Skills Training at Chilika Satapada, organized by the Indian Institute of Tourism and Travel Management (IITTM), Bhubaneswar, and sponsored by the Department of Tourism was successfully inaugurated today. Dr. Adyasha Das, Chairperson, Training gave the welcome address & explained the objective of the training. Invited dignitaries, DFO Shri Amlan Nayak & Dr. Lalit Das, IPS(Rtd) spoke about the significance of this training programme & lauded IITTM's efforts.
