These rocks are measuring a height of about 122 meters (400 feet) from the ground; these pillars are known for offering bird's eye view of the surrounding beautiful vistas. View is place from which you can get an amazing view of the plains from Kodaikanal. This view point, erstwhile known as " ***de Point" has been renamed presently as "Green Valley View". Standing in this point, you get a bird's eye view of the 5000 ft deep valley with all the flora and fauna and the Vaigai Dam, to some extent. But, the views solely depend on your luck and time, as this place gets misty too often. If there is mist also, you may wait for some time and it gets cleared and the views from here are amazing.

One of the popular tourist spots in Kodaikanal, Coaker’s Walk is something worth visiting during your Kodaikanal tour. Constructed by Lt. Coaker in 1872 on whom it has been named, Coaker’s Walk is a narrow pedestrian path which is approximately one km in length. Running along the slope edges on the southern of the Kodai Road. The places offer tourists with a refreshing setting along with breath taking view of the plains.

One can have the opportunity to have clear view of the Dolphin's nose which is located in the south, valley of the Pambar River in South East. You also get a distant view of the Periyakulam along with a view of Madurai city. However, if you happen to visit on a cloudy day, you might not get a clear picture of these.

One must be aware of a fascinating phenomenon called 'Brachem Spectre' . A very lucky person can see his shadow on the clouds with a rainbow halo, when sun is behind and cloud and mist is in his front.

Kodai Lake is the One of the main attractions for the tourists of Kodaikanal. The lake is situated at 10 deg 14' n latitude and 77 deg 28' longitude at an elevation of 2285m above sea level and it looks magnificent with star shaped glittering water, in the midst of evergreen lush slopes. The hills receive the rainfall during North-East Monsoon months of October, November and December. The lake is spread over 60 acres and surrounded by fine tarred road of 5 kilometers length, the maximum depth in 1962 was 11.5m but it is now about 9m due to siltation. The average depth is 3.0m. The boat club provides boats for hire. There are luxury boats also.

Today lakhs of tourists walk around, sail on, ride on horses & cycles and admire the lake. Fishing can also be done obtaining permission from Inspector of Fisheries. Ponyrides by children and adults walking around the lake are part of Kodai Holiday.

Bryant Park is one of the most colourful attractions of Kodaikanal. Sprawling in an expanse of 20.5 acres, this park was established by H. D. Bryant (a forest officer from Madurai) in the year 1908. Boasting of over 325 species of trees, cactuses and shrubs, this park appears like a gorgeous rainbow when all its flowers bloom.

Here, there is a special section of roses, where you can find approximately 740 of its varieties. A 157-year old Eucalyptus tree is one of the park's main attractions. There is also a large and beautiful Bodhi tree that adds to the park a religious significance.

During your visit, you can purchase ornamental plants that are cultivated in a nursery in the park. Every summer, flower shows and horticultural exhibits are organized in the park that attract countless visitors from different parts of the state and beyond.

The Nilgiri Mountain Railway was built by the British in 1908; the track rises at a gradient of 1 in 12 and has 208 curves and 13 tunnels. This is the only heritage train and runs at the highest elevated place in Southern India. The service comes under Nilgiri Mountain Railway (NMR) and is a major tourist attraction.
This Nilgiri rail system is unique as it is the steepest one in Asia. It was declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO during 2005.

The ‘Nilgiris toy train' connect Ooty to mettupalayam, The train travels near 46 km to Ooty approximately in five hours, The train, for obvious safety reasons, averages around 10 km/hour and it is the slowest in India.
