Home About Us

ABOUT US
You won’t find any fluffy language or marketing hype here, just honest, straightforward answers to that fundamental question of why us? The responses below are deeply rooted in our ethos, which is to create meticulously curated, personalized adventures that allow our guests to experience a destination in the most immersive, inspiring, and energizing way possible. At Himalayan In Journey, we believe that travel has the power to change us and things around us. Now coming to the point, why choose us?

Just Right Group Sizes

While many outfitters consider 20-30 (a bus-load) a small group, we find smaller is so much better. We’ve capped our trips at 16 guests, and have a 5:1 guest-to-guide. Our small groups and personalized service allow you to enjoy the beauty, culture, flavor, and excitement of a new land not from the well-trodden tourist track, but from the perspective of an insider

Finest Guides

You can expect the finest experience from our incredible private, specialist, and trained trek leaders, guides, and local support team.

Eco-friendly & Paperless

We are completely paperless, you don’t have to print anything; all will be done online. All our adventure operations are eco-friendly and we have been trying to go plastic-free as a part of our sustainable tourism approach.

A Commitment to your Safety

At Himalayan In Journey, your safety is paramount. Our guides are hired on this principle and trained not only to keep you safe out in the field but to be ready for the unexpected “the flash flood, the lightning storm, the civil unrest” those off-the-itinerary events you weren’t accounting for. Our equipment is always top-notch and carefully maintained, and also a means through which we protect your safety.

Travel with Heart

Our core ethos of “Care of the Land and People” drives all that we do. When you travel with us you make a small contribution to the ‘Trek for a Cause’ initiative which helps people and nature in the remote areas of the Indian Himalayas. On top of that, the vast majority of your money will go straight to support and grow local economies.

Outstanding Guest Service

With Himalayan In Journey, you travel in expert care from the moment you make your reservation until you board your flight home. Our outstanding guest services team takes care of every last detail of your trip, ensuring you have the best possible adventure experience.

Owned by Travelers and Operated

We are a small boutique adventure tour operator, owned and operated by Travelers who have left everything to travel and take people to the most remote and amazing places in a sustainable way. We have remained true to our mission throughout, treating our guests as we do each other like family. We couldn’t be prouder of who we are and what we do.

We’ve got your back

Things happen. Plans change. We get that. If life throws you a curveball, we won’t throw back a penalty. We will help reschedule trips or travel dates so you can focus on all the good to come, not on feeling let down. When you travel with us, you will get what you hoped for (and more!) out of your precious vacation time. If we fail to hit that mark, we will work with you to make it right.

Secure & easy booking

Once you are happy with the trip, you can easily book via Himalayan In Journey’s secure payment platform.

Exceptional value, without compromise

Every year, we take a close look at how we stack up value-wise with our competitors, and then we adjust our rates, terms, conditions, and inclusions. We promise you to provide you exceptional value without compromising on quality.

We did a winter trek in Uttarakhand with Dinesh at Himalayan in Journey, and I wholeheartedly recommend him! He’s local to the area, knows the mountains like a real expert, and is an all-round excellent guide. As our main point of contact, with us coming over from England, he was able to sort everything out for us including equipment, food and accommodation. He made it all so easy, and we felt very safe and looked after.Using a knowledgeable local guide like Dinesh is miles better than a package tour from a big company or travel agent.

Captivating peak views are hard to believe. This triangular shaped glacial lake lies above 14000 ft, hidden inside the ridge believed to be the "the road to truth" (Satya Ki Pantha) . The Panch Pandavas of epic Mahabharata took this difficult trail to try to reach the heaven. At different places on the trail, the legends still live, and the names bear the resemblance of the myth. March '2017: After the gruelling Nanda Devi East Base camp trek last year, I was planning to do something easier this time. Few sessions of browsing the net and I decided on the Kuari Pass trek. The duration of 6 days suited me as I could combine it with the long holiday weekend during April 2nd week. I found the contact of Mr. Dinesh Sing Bisht on the Indiamikes site and called him to check whether the trek was doable. This year it had snowed late till March in the upper Himalayas so I wasn't sure initially whether it could be done. Dinesh confirmed that it had snowed recently and some routes were still inaccessible. There was still a month's time to the trek and I was hoping the snow would melt by that time.

So booked bus and train tickets, transferred a token amount to Dinesh to confirm the trip, emailed ID proof for permissions and it was done. That feeling when you confirm a trek or a road trip cant be described in words. The anticipation and excitement makes me

Uttrakhand Chamoli https://himalayaninjourney/ Saptkund!--Attractive world of seven lakes away from the eyes of the world, after 124 years the rare lippyrus pygmai flower blossomed on this track..

(Unknown tourist place installment in Chamoli district)
From the point of view of tourism in the marginal district of Chamoli, there are many such anonymous tourist places which are still away from the eyes of the country and the world. If such places are made aware of the country, the world through proper publicity and dissemination, then it will not only promote tourism but also provide employment opportunities to the local youth. Due to which the steps of youth who are being forced to migrate in the hope of employment will be able to stop in their own mountain. After Tadag Tal in the Nijmula Valley of Chamoli district, one such anonymous treasure trove of seven lakes is in disarray, which is known as the sacred Saptkund. Seeing this priceless blessings of nature, you will also say wahhahhah.

After 124 years, the rare Lippirus Pygmai flower found in the Saptkund track..

The Corona period proved to be a lifeline for the Himalayas. Due to the closure of human movement in the Bugyal and High Himalayan regions of the Himalayas during the Corona period, the Himalayan flora has got a new life. It is heartwarming to get such a good news. All the environmentalists and nature lovers are extremely happy. After a gap of 124 years, a rare species of flower 'Liparis Pygmai' has blossomed in the country. The flower has been confirmed to bloom in the Saptkund trek area located in Chamoli district of Uttarakhand. For the first time, a rare flower of orchid species 'Liparis pygmia' has been found in Chamoli district of Uttarakhand. This discovery by Research Fellow Manoj Singh and Ranger Harish Negi of the Forest Research Center has also been published in the prestigious French Journal Ricardiana. According to this discovery published in the journal, it is also the fi

The Kuari Pass trekking which is also known as the Lord Curzon Trail being first achieved by Lord Curzon, (the famous former Viceroy of India and a keen trekker) is a spectacular trek to the Kuari Pass skirting through the outer wall of the Nanda Devi Sanctuary, crossing passes and beautiful river systems in the Garhwal trekking Himalaya. A trek to Kuari Pass is exclusively popular among the European and American travelers. At an elevation of 4265m in the heart of Chamoli District of Uttaranchal in the northeastern region of Garhwal, the Kuari Pass Trek brings the high altitude meadows of Gorson Stunning views of the big Himalayan peaks, of Nanda Devi, Hathi Ghodi and Dronagiri. The trek will take the travelers through the blossoming green fields, remote villages and the virgin forests of the area along some mightiest rivers of India like the Ganges, Alaknanda, Bhagirathi, Mandakini etc.
Basically, there are two ways through which one can arrive at the Kuari trek; one is through the Curzon Trail i.e. from Ghat via Ramni and the other one is from Auli Bugyal through Gorson Top which the trekkers generally avoid during winters. If anyone takes the Lord Curzon trail, she/he would be able to notice the royal twin peaks of Nanda Devi, Kamet, Dronagiri, and Hathi- Ghodi Parvat. Rare Himalayan flora and fauna are found galore on the track.
The Kuari Pass trek was the route followed by Shipton and Tilman on their way to the Rishi Gorge and by other mountaineers en route to the peaks on the Indo-Tibetan border. In 1905 Lord Curzon reached Kuari pass from Ghat via Ramni. It is said that the path was specially improved so that he could do the trek and today many trekkers prefer to undertake the trek in the reverse direction. The crossing of the pass is a fitting conclusion to a trek that takes in three lesser passes and five major rivers - the Pindar, Kaliganga, Mandakini, Bheriganga and the Dhauliganga. The Pass (Khal) is approached through a narrow goat track at an elevation of 4265 mts. A trekker might even be lucky enough to come across the leopard pugmarks or a Himalayan black bear on his route.
