Jalori is a high mountain pass, which is located at an elevation of 10570 ft (3223m) in Himachal Pradesh’s Karsog valley. To reach the Jalori Pass, one will have to go through extreme and adverse climatic condition and tough turf. To approach the peak, one should trek during April and December. Winters are just not the right to trek as the area receives heavy snowfall and it reaches approximately 20 feet.

Majestic mountains, green valleys, meandering rivers, orchards and vineyards define the valley of Kinnaur in Himachal Pradesh. Since it shares its border with Tibet the influence of Tibetan culture is strongly felt here. Kinnaur is also known as the ‘Land of fairytales’ and remains snow-clad for six months, quite like Spiti and Lahaul. Divided into two main valleys — Sangla Valley and the Hangrang Valley, Kinnaur is divided into three administrative areas, Pooh, Kalpa, and Nichar.

Often referred as Ajanta of the Himalayas, Tabo Monastery is situated at the height of 10,007 feet in Lahaul and Spiti district of Himachal Pradesh in north India. It is one of the oldest Buddhist pilgrimage centres in the Trans-Himalayas region. Held in high regard by Tibetan Buddhists, Tabo is second in importance to the Tholing Gompa in Tibet. Spread over an area of 6300 sq mtr, the monastery comprises of nine temples and gompas.
