Lavender fields in Valensole in the Provence region, France is a sight to see. The bloom is between June to July. Some of my personal travel experience from the not so touristy places, is this most beautiful region in France - Burgundy. Beaune is the wine capital of Burgundy in Eastern France. The Grand cru variety is grown primarily here and you have the worlds most famous wine villages. This wine regions boasts of some distinct chateaux dotted across its vineyard landscape, all of which have their own architectural style and charm. The most renowned food specialties in this region are coq au vin, escargots, drool worthy cheese. You can also find some amazing fine dine restaurants in this region.
