We are just a bunch of very normal people doing very normal jobs and currently sworn to corporate slavery. Bored out of our wits most of the time, we were bitten by the travel bug early in life! For us travel does not mean exotic locations with a lot of luxury (Such dreams have been parked for the future when our bank accounts and us will be more in sync!) but more so to explore the lands around u

s in this beautiful country we call our home. What started as a weekend getaway to escape the hype of the city and tensions of life, rather hung in as a habit. Months would go by in planning and waiting but every single time the wait would be worth it. So, here is what you need to know about us -
Besant Varghees, the "Planner"
He can very well be called the backbone of this group. He is the man behind all the brilliant planning, reservations, coaxing lazy people to get out of their comfort zones for a trek, the morning wake-up alarm, the leader and the list really goes on. Basically, he is the captain of our team! Quality - Kickass planning, the practical one and an amazingly patient and calm soul. Creates wonders with his small camera too! Thoshy Felix, also called "Ranger Toshy"
Sir Toshy is our commander-in-chief. He bridges the line between the actual plan and the random adventure that pops up during the trip. Always up for a challenge, this guy can push you to climb the highest mountain convincing you that it’s as easy as crossing a road! An avid sleeper, he misses most of our awesome game sessions thanks to his mysterious doze-off-after-dinner efficiency. Quality - Right hand to Besant, a diehard Chennai vaasi, has a future career as a trustworthy driver and 99% Leech resistant! Jeswin Augustine, the "Food Finisher"
If Besant and Toshy need a partner, it has to be the boy-next-door Jeswin. Not that he is that kind, he is just always around the corner - literally. He is addicted to selfies, nonsensical jokes and food. Don’t go by the image, it’s still a mystery as to where all that food really goes! Quality – The geek in the team, he manages our websites and all those techy-geeky stuff (in need of some nerdy glasses). The definition of "chilled out", he is an amazing company to be around. Viswanath Kartha, the “Real Tripper”
Mr. Kartha jumps roles between being the driver, DJ and camera person (he does underwater shooting too). In line to be named “the kind of good times” for all the good reasons, he truly enjoys a “vacation”. He plays a very important role in driving-routes and geography discussions and has amazing stories to share all the time. If not tripping or working, he loves to spend his time with his lady love – his Classic 500. Quality – Victim to the “Beard craze”, he is always up for an adventure and if you are in his good books he will make it his life’s mission to keep you happy! Jithin Jose, the “Observer”
He is the silent one of the lot but when he speaks, man can he make you laugh or what! He has a little bit of all the above in him and is always supportive of anything us whackos come up with. A gamer by choice, he has dedicated his life to the four walled DOTA world. Quality – Up for any trips, he is usually the man calling “shotgun”. Always the peacemaker, he has a joke on everything and everybody! Sandeepa Ruby, the “Story teller”
Sandy is the baby of our team, she always has the longest and sleep inducing stories to tell but she is a big help keeping the mojo up in the team. All together a thin frame, this lady hogs like Jeswin (yep, using him as a reference), jumps like a kangaroo and can finish a trek in record time. Quality – HR by profession, she helps in posing for the camera and getting the group going! Bibin Dharmaraj, the “Camera-man”
He denies it almost all the time, but photography is his side profession. This guy never fails to capture beauty (with us in it most of the time!) and make us all look pretty. He completes this boy gang and is always up for anything that spells F-U-N! Quality – Photography (major source of our Camera related wiki), another Chennai vaasi! Anju Kuruvilla,
Well that is me and I don’t really believe in self-praise! We have two onshore resources that are an integral part of this venture: Say hello to Paul Alapatt & Freddy Joy Joseph! These two brought all of us together but then in search of new adventures, they travelled to the far lands of USA! But, that did not stop them from being involved. Every trip/meeting/memory has to by default have them (rule!), we terribly miss them. Apart from this, we are blessed with A LOT of friends who join us for our trips occasionally and help us make memories and motivate us to help others go for such amazing journeys. A big shout out to all you amazing people!

One of our favourite JAVA moment - This waterfalls trek was an absolute favourite of ours during our Indonesian exploration last year. This is Tumpak sewu waterfalls in Java island.

If you have been following our updates, you might be aware that we had extensively explored different untouched islands of Indonesia, last November. And you might have also seen our jaw dropping photos from Raja Ampat in Papua.

Those who missed our Indonesia updates, you may find it on our Instagram Story Highlights "Indonesia".

Exciting news:

This waterfall trek is just a sneak peek of what's in store for our upcoming Indonesia trip next month. It's not just about Java – we're going big with Komodo, Flores, and Bali all rolled into one incredible adventure! And let me tell you, our plans for Komodo are next level – something you've never experienced on a vacation before. Stay tuned!

Wow, hosting that awesome backpacking adventure in Sikkim was an absolute blast last week.

Despite the abundance of fancy and luxury properties available, nothing warms our hearts more than witnessing travelers wholeheartedly embracing the charm of exploring quaint homestay cottages and quirky backpacking spots.

This makes us to always be on the lookout for more of these special stays – it's like a treasure hunt! Nevertheless, we have a select few, ensuring each trip with us promises an amazing stay that never fails to impress.

Shoutout to Vignesh () for helping to make the trip unforgettable!

Next stop: Arunachal Pradesh, and guess what? All 14 slots are filled with excitement bubbling up for all the fun moments ahead! 🎉

Remembering some of our epic trips and the awesome people we've met along the way! This was from our Tadiandamol peak trek in Coorg.

Tadiandamol peak trek is generally considered as one of the easy peasy treks of Karnataka. But prior to 2015, we usually don't take the normal route (palace route), which is usually taken by everyone. Instead we take the Honey Valley route.

The Honey Valley route to Tadiandamol has everything from stunning waterfalls, ridge walks, river crossings etc. Honey valley route to Tadiandamol is one of the toughest treks in the Western Ghats, but totally worth it!We trekked this route only twice, and each time, it's been an unforgettable adventure.

Those who journeyed with us before 2015 will surely have incredible tales to share about the Honey Valley estate property where we lodge during the trek. It's a location like no other, unmatched in its beauty and serenity. Unfortunately, it's currently non-operational.

Please note: The Honey Valley route is currently closed. If any of you were fortunate enough to explore this route before 2015, we'd love to hear about your experiences in the COMMENTS!

This was a nice sunrise kayaking we did in Kochi during our food trip last Jan, navigating through idyllic villages separated from the mainland. Best part about this kayaking is, you get to paddle through narrow canals, like the one in the picture. It's more exciting than kayaking in a wide open backwater.

We started kayaking from Maravanthuruthu at 5:30am, which is a 1hr drive from Fort Kochi.

Kizhakku kayaking conducted this event for us and guided us wonderfully.

Chimmini was a fabulous one day trek we did from Coimbatore a few months back. Perfect for both kids and adults, however, it's best suited for those willing to trade comfort for a more basic, authentic adventure. Not for those expecting a comfortable getaway.

Reach out to the forest department in advance if you are planning a weekend trek, as they have limited slots available each day. Whether you're trekking solo or with a group, a forest guard will guide you. You cannot venture alone inside.

Looking back when we travelled to Sikkim's best kept secret - Dzongu, a hamlet which completely isolates you from the world.

Some facts about Dzongu, based on our experience:

✳️ It was in 2018 we travelled to Dzongu for the first time. CAC has been there 4 times.

✳️ Dzongu is a 4 hour drive from Gangtok.

✳️ You will need two days and one night in your sikkim itinerary to visit Dzongu.

✳️ Anyone visiting the Dzongu must get an inner line permit (ILP) before entering.

✳️ The permit (ILP) can be arranged by your tour or transport operator. Even the homestay can help you get the permit.

✳️ Dzongu is an undisturbed land where you’d appreciate nature at its purest and nurture lifetime bonds with the simple, warm and hospitable Lepchas—the original inhabitants of Sikkim.

✳️ Since 2018 we have been staying at Lingthem Lyang Homestay. After our visit back then, we were told that, atleast 15 groups from Coimbatore have visited this homestay inspired by our post.

✳️ Lingthem Lyang Homestay is a charming little wooden accommodation of the Lephas, the original inhabitants of Sikkim. There are more such homestays in different parts of Dzongu, each special in their own way.

✳️ The Lephas depend entirely on nature for their livelihood.

✳️ They grow their vegetables and crops with organic manure, in their backyard. As we were their guests, we were served the purest food we have ever tasted.

✳️ The Lephas believe that a life spent being true to nature would bless them with a rewarding afterlife.

✳️ You will surely fall in love with Dzongu - the genuinely pristine nature, the people, the food, altogether it feels like you are in a different country.

✳️ But remember, Dzongu is not everyone. Its for those who appreciate sustainable living, slow travel and silence.

In our next post we will share the list of things that you can do in Dzongu.

An unforgettable evening well spent with our friends from Vietnam! They took us to every nook and cranny of their city, hooked us up with the local food joints where they usually spend their time, and had us try some seriously cool food you don't usually find on the tourist trail.

The highlight was cruising from spot to spot on their scooters. Each of them rode their own scooters, allowing us to hop on the back and enjoy the ride together.

They shared numerous insider tips about hidden local cafes in different parts of Vietnam and guided us on the best places to snag unique souvenirs. Each tip was distinctive and invaluable.

By doing this culinary joyride on our first day in Vietnam, we came to know what exactly are the authentic Vietnamese food. It made it easy for us to pick the right food during our entire trip further across the country. We didn't even try Indian food for a single day of our trip.

It was a delightful journey through flavors and friendship. Good times !

Our goal is to do this in every country we visit: chilling with locals and letting them guide us on a foodie adventure. Will that be awesome?

These happy moments are from an amazing last month.

Any guesses of this place? We first travelled here in 2018. Back then we didn't even see a single Indian traveller in this hilltop while we stayed there. Things have changed now 😊😊 Our hunt has started to explore more offbeat places. Exciting news on its way.

This is when we travelled to Cochin last month, but it wasn't for a trek. It was for food, festivals and adventure.

Trying Cochin's distinct flavours, getting immersed in the vibrant Cochin Carnival and catching a sunrise while kayaking, this trip was wholesome. You could actually see the good vibes reflected in those wide grins.

Let us know in comments if you would like us to share our food journey in Cochin, it might be helpful when you go there with your folks.

Last Saturday unfolded as a special day, as we got united for a team lunch, sharing heart warming experiences from various trips and mapped destinations for future adventures.

The cherished bonds we share and the incredible journeys we've taken have woven us into a close-knit family, that spans over 8 years for some. Here's to the magic of togetherness! ✨

The unwavering trust CAC has built over the years can be evident from the fact that 60% of participants in most of our trips are women.

What's particularly exciting is that everyone here is a solo traveler, seeking the excitement of connecting with new people and embracing unique travel adventures, steering away from the conventional path of group travel with friends.

Monsoon trips redefine joy - yet this year's absence of typical Western Ghats rains hindered our usual treks, with many areas drying up quickly. The erratic weather adversely affected wildlife too. We only did half of our usual monsoon treks this year.

Fingers crossed for an incredible monsoon in 2024.

We are all set to welcome the snow season with an exotic nomadic trip to Himachal.

Join us on this journey to the very heart of the Mountains, its people, and to smack in the middle of the winter Himalayan season! Yes we are all set to conduct one of our unique itineraries of the Himachal.

🔰 Dates: 9-17 Dec, 2023
🔰 For complete itinerary, refer to the link in Bio.

✳️ You can call this a road trip or a trek trip or a village hopping trip, this trip has it all.

✳️ We will be visiting some of the beautiful villages, which are frequented only by backpackers and untouched by the humdrum of the urban world.

✳️ We will be staying at homestays, backpackers hostels, river side cottages and will be trekking to waterfalls and hot springs.

We've put our utmost passion in preparing this plan for a joyous experience for us and for all those who join us.

We had to plan this trip at the last minute due to the logistics constraints that go into it while planning this trip.

This Diwali, get ready for the Ultimate Adventure in Dubai & Abu Dhabi, happening from 12-16 Nov, 2023. But don't worry, this is not the usual Dubai itinerary which are opted by tourists from India.

We've handpicked an itinerary that's going to give you the most epic week in the Middle East. We're talking about the biggest, fastest, shiniest experiences you can imagine.

This place is like something out of a sci-fi movie, with its iconic skyscrapers that just scream "future." From islands shaped like palms to malls the size of cities, secret beaches, and traditional markets, not to mention the most Insta-worthy neighborhoods and mouthwatering food.

In the Middle East, there's always something new to discover, and Dubai certainly knows how to make a grand impression.

✳️ Here's some of the things we have included in our itinerary:

🏎️ Exciting adventures at Ferrari World
🌟 Unforgettable moments at Warner Bros Park
🚀 Exploring the Museum of the Future
⛵ Luxurious Yacht Safari to uncover Dubai's hidden gems
🌍 Shopping extravaganza at the Global Village
🕌 Visiting the world's largest mosque
🚝 Monorail journey through Palm Jumeirah to Atlantis
🏘️ Immerse yourself in the historic Bastakiya Old Town
🚤 Take a traditional Abra ride across Dubai Creek
🌶️ Explore the vibrant Spice Souq and dazzling Gold Souq.

We have also included the cost of every entrance ticket to the above excitements, including the entrance fees of Ferrari World and Warner Bros world (which would cost otherwise approx 13000rs)

You could even choose to Sky Dive on the last day, along with the few tripmates who have already booked for a Sky diving experience.

✳️ Trip cost: ₹ 66000

Dubai never runs out of surprises; it's like a playground for the adventurous. So, get ready to be amazed! 🌆🏝️✨

When visiting foreign countries, we make an effort to immerse ourselves in the local vibes as much as possible.

Check out this snazzy pic from our recent experience on a Vietnamese overnight sleeper train. 🚂✨ It's THE standout moment of our trip, even though it was a marathon 14-hour ride. But trust us, the journey was filled with laughter and fun.

We strongly encourage young travelers to embrace such unconventional experiences in their international adventures. Opting for a taxi from your hotel can always be part of your travel plans for later years.

Concerning hygiene on these trains, there's no need to fret. We affectionately call them 'sleeping metros'. Think of Indian metros with a sleeper coach, and that's how the interiors looked.

Bonus, there'a restuarant too in the train, but it's only for pure non-vegetarians 😄

PS: Nope, we didn't hog a single cabin like you see in the photo. But we assembled in one for games and chit-chat, just like a lively ride on an Indian train. 🎲🎉 But for sleeping, four in a cabin, with a lockable door.

Dates: 1-8 October

📸

This October, we invite you as we travel to the secluded wonder called Arunachal Pradesh, an authentic treasure house of nature, tucked away in the north eastern tip of India. Please note: this is not a bikers trip.

October is the greenest month to experience this paradise.

▪️WHY SHOULD YOU TAKE THIS TRIP?

🔰You are travelling to a state that is unaffected by the developments of 21st century. It's completely unspoiled.

🔰The state is unpolluted, less tourists, but full of culture and vibrancy. You will really wonder how clean this state is compared to rest of the country.

🔰 This route through Arunachal is one of the scenic roadtrips of the country.

🔰All through the trip you will be amazed by the tall Himalayan mountains, the fresh rivers, the kind hospitality, the colourful temples and the amazing humans.

🔰You will get to stay in some of the best homestays of Arunachal, carefully picked by CAC during our exploratory trip.

🔰You will get to connect with the natives, and taste the most authentic food. Don't forget to taste the Yak butter tea, whenever you visit their houses.

🔰Being bordered by Assam, Nagaland, Bhutan, Myanmar, and Tibet, this produces a wonderful mix of culture and, even better, the yummiest food!

🔰In Arunachal, we will be exploring Dirang, Sangti Valley, Tawang, Sela Pass, Jung Falls, Bumla pass, and Bomdilla. Each place has its own fame, but we don't want to cramp the itinerary by describing everything here.

🔰Apart from Arunachal, you will also get to explore two National parks of Assam - Nameri and Kaziranga. We will be staying one night, inside each of these parks.

🔰By the end of this trip, you will feel that, do we really need or depend on modern technology to survive in the 21st century? Is a more simple life a happier one? This trip will change the way you have thought about travel.

🔰So join us, as we step into this world of beauty and inspiration. It will be something you will treasure.

11/09/2023

The "Goa Beyond Beaches" program was an absolute hit, propelling us into the spotlight, to the extent that several travel companies in South India started offering a similar program. Some didn't even bother changing the trip name, that's how iconic it became.

After that, we set our sights on Maharashtra's Western Ghats. But hold on, we weren't out to discover hidden gems – most of these spots had already seen their fair share of explorers. Our mission? Crafting the ultimate 4-day itinerary, ideal for anyone traveling from Coimbatore or, in fact, anywhere in South India.

Why four days, you ask? Well, Maharashtra is very far from Coimbatore, so flying was the only way to go. Quick weekend getaways were off the table, and to make the most of our travel, we crammed in four treks in as many days. Challenge accepted!

Now, here's the strategy: We ditched Mumbai for Pune Airport, and it was a genius move. Reason being:

- Cheaper flights.
- The flight schedules were perfectly timed to maximize daytime hours and avoid sleep-deprived flights.
- We had a late-evening flight from Coimbatore to Pune for the onward journey.
- On the way back, an early morning flight from Pune to Coimbatore got us back by 6 am, ready to dive back into our daily grind.

We hit up Lonavala, ventured deep into the mysterious Andharban forests, conquered Rajmachi, embraced the beauty of Malshej, and took on Kallu like pros. It was a journey of epic proportions, and while there are more stories in the pipeline, stay tuned for another mind-blowing adventure, coming your way later this month. 🌟🌄✈️

CAC is getting ready to jet-set. Our international journeys kick off this week, commencing with Bhutan as our first destination, and next up on the travel roster is the Pho-bulous Vietnam.

We're thrilled to share that our available slots sold out within days of announcing these trips, and we're packed, pumped, and primed for takeoff

We will be posting about our adventures here on Instagram, throughout our journey, especially the offbeat experiences featured in our itinerary.

For now, let's rewind and bask in some throwback moments from our past Vietnam journeys, where we traversed the entire country via train rides, sea cruises, limousines, flights and sleeper buses.
