On request Welaro can provide simple vegetarian or non vegetarian meals on a chargeable basis. Welaro doesn't have a liquor permit and will not serve any alcoholic beverage. Welaro is located close to shola forests we advise our guests not to walk out for a stroll after it is dark. Should you have to step out please use a torch. At Welaro we are constantly striving to reduce our carbon footprint, therefore in case of a power cut which is infrequent we encourage you to experience candle lit dinners and see the magnificent display of stars in the night sky. All bedrooms are provided with an emergency light. Early mornings at Welaro are a treat for bird watchers. We have some unique butterflies and birds in and around Welaro. Keep your cameras handy. You may be in luck to spot Bison, Barking Deer, Porcupines, Mongoose and many more.

How to reach Welaro: By air: The nearest airport is situated in the city of Coimbatore which is 75kms away and will take 3 hours by road to reach Welaro. Things to see and do; 1.Lamb's Rock - A 5 minute walk from Welaro one can view the Coimbatore plains, tea estates and coffee estates. 2. Dolphin's Nose - Another viewpoint with a view of the Catherine falls.It is a 15 minute drive from Welaro. Situated 5 kms from Welaro and is well over 1000 ft.above sea level. The tip of the peak resembles a dolphin's nose and hence the name. The best partare the tea plantations on the way and the hairpin bends. 3. Sim's Park - Situated 6kms from Welaro in Coonoor town. Developed more than 100 years ago in the year 1874 by Mr. J.D. Sims and major Murray. It is an unusual park cm botanical garden. 4. Day trip to Ooty which is 18 kms away from Coonoor and takes around an hour by road. One can also take the toy train up to oooty from Coonoor railway station. The weather: The summers are pleasant. The month of March marks the start and it lasts till June. The temperature ranges from 20 degrees C to 35 degrees C. Winters are from November to January and the temperatures are from 11 degrees C to 25 degrees C.
