Mountain Biking Tour (2 nights/ 3 days)

Day 01: Pick up from NJP and drop to Kayiavir Forest Village via Kurseong. On the way visit Margaret´s Deck & Lepchajagat.
Check in at Sherpa Community Homestay.

After lunch, village tour & walk to Manjushree Falls.

Evening, meet mountain bike guide with having tea & snacks.

Dinner at around 9 pm.

Day 02: Mountain Biking Tour:
After breakfast around 9 am, get ready for Mountain biking tour. Riding on a mountain bike you head west via New Road and then taking Pokhriabong Road ride slowly downhill about 2 km to Devrepani where the aged old off road starts. This road was said to have build by Britishers to transport tea leaves from Chamong TE to Ghoom station and Timber to Kolkata via Siliguri.

This off road of about 7.5 km menders through scattered to lush pine forest to Pulkhola above Rangbhang Village. Here the Indo-Nepal border is just ten to hundreds meters away. The off road ends here and then you will head uphill taking Mirik highway for about 3 km to Simana View Point where the mighty Kanchenjunga can be seen on a bright day. From this view point overlooking Sandakphu, Nepalese villages on the far west and Maneybhanjyang below treelines are superb.

From Simana View point you will continue gentle up hill through lush forest to Jorepokhari. This touristic spot right on the top of your tour starting point Kayiavir is the home of rare and most endsnger species Salamander. Here the modified tein lakes and overlooking Kanchenjunga is breathtaking.

From Jorpokhari, you will take gradual downhill road through pine forest to Sukhiapokhari Bazaar and then further two km. to get back to tour start point Kayiavir.

Packed lunch can be taken for the tour.
Evening; tea and snacks will be served.
Dinner at around 9 pm.

Overnight: Sherpa Community Homestay.

Day 03: Diparture:
After breakfast, drop to NJP for homebound jorney. On the way, visit of Pashupati Nagar (Nepal border town for shopping), Gopaldhara & Mirik.

Tour Cost for minimum of 3 persons: Rs 7990 per person.

ITINERARY::
Day 01: Arrival in New Jalpaiguri (NJP), Drive from NJP – KayiaVir Forest Village (5.5 km near Lepchajagat, off beat place), ideal for peace loving people who loves to enjoy nature. We strongly suggest to spent at least here in low area (arround 2000 meters from sea level) to minimize/avoid risk of high altitude sickness.
Checkin at Sherpa Community Homestay.
Lunch, Snacks & Dinner.

Day 02: Drive to Manebhanjang and further up entering Singalila Range, Tumling (9,500ft). (16km)
Overnight: At Homestay.
Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner.

Day 03: Drive Tumling to Sandakphu 3,(11,929 ft). 20 Km.
Sunset Views of Mt Khanchendzonga, Lotse, Makalu & Mt Everest are breathtaking.
Overnight: Sunrise Lodge.

Day 04: Sunrise at Sandakphu – Drive back to Maneybhanjyang than to KayiaVir.

Trek starts after breakfast from Sherpa Community Homestay around nine o´clock in the morning.
You will follow new road to Manjishree waterfall and than further down to Reyang Khola than follow jungle trail gradual uphill walk to Naumel Tar. Wher the birdwatching for few hours may be done. You are now deep into the lush forest where the wild animals like wild bore, squirrels and barking deer can be witnessed. The bird species found in this jungle are:

Then you will walk and continue up to water pump Station near Simana Road. Where you can enjoy your picnic lunch.

After lunch and few minutes relaxation amidst forest, you will walk further through giant pine trees to Jorepokhari.

Jorepokhari is the home of rare and endanger species called Salamander. Which can rarely been seen during monsoon.
From Jorepokhari (means twins lake) views of Kunchenjunga is spectacular and sceneries around lakes, tourist lodge, temple and view points with overlooking Kenchenjunga is just breathtaking.

We will be there until dusk for sunset view over the mountains and then take shortcut jungle path to reach our homestay or continue walk through picturesque pine trees to Sukhia Pokhari and then following Pokhariabong road back to homestay.

👉 Cost: Rs 1500 per head.
