A short drive of 25 kms from the Place gets you to Chakrata town which has been an army cantonment from the British times. Surrounded by thick forest, this town is an ideal place to spend time exploring the interesting market (especially for handmade woolen clothing) From Chakrata one can go on a downhill walk (2 hrs) to the Tiger Falls (the biggest waterfall in this area) and spend a couple of hours here in the pool that is formed below the Falls. For those averse to walking to the Falls, you could drive ahead from Chakrata to a point closer to the Falls to enjoy the natural beauty here.
