Ever wondered why the Saint Basil's Cathedral so colourful unlike other churches of the world ?
Built in 1555, Saint Basil's cathedral was said to be white to match the white stone of the Kremlin, while the domes were gold. The brilliant colours weren't added for over 200 years. The church acquired its present-day vivid colours in several stages from the 1680s to 1848.  Starting in the 17th century, the façade and domes began to be painted in the remarkable colours that are seen today, and the pigment is said to be taken from a Biblical description, in the Book of Revelation, of the Kingdom of Heaven. This is one of the most popular tourist destination of Russia, Moscow at the red square.

Lighthouses are often considered frightening,mysterious, creepy, secretive, baffling, ghostly yet pleasing and comforting. Standing tall and undeterred, nothing escapes it's light. I drove all the way from Colombo to Galle to see this structure which is an onshore lighthouse. I have always had a thing for white houses and lighthouses. So this being a white lighthouse I had to come and check this out. This was my first encounter with a giant lighthouse and I came back safe, actually quite happy

Yes, you read that correctly. Staying in an Igloo is quite possible in India. Snuggled on the Sethan valley is a winter wonderland of India. With just a fraction of the amount spent in a foreign land, you can have the same experience in your country too.  Keylinga’s Igloo is located in the mountains of Hamta/Sethan Valley which is approx 18 km from Manali. Igloo Camp is about 200 m away from the road head. This trek in the snow takes around 20 mins. During snow time, the Igloo camp is accessible only by 4 x 4 vehicles or by trekking which normally takes 3-4 hours from Mall Road, Manali. Just make sure to travel in a small group.

Once upon a time Kashmir had beautiful stone temples. Its unique style and architecture is what still draws a lot of intrigue. What remains now of these magnificent creations are just ruins.
