It saddens us when we have to write such posts. As a responsible tour agent safety and security is paramount to us, as is your well being.

FATIGUE: this affects all of us in different ways and our lifestyle is a major contributor to this. India has no laws regarding driver hours or regulations, making the dangerous roads even more dangerous.

Here at Taj Mahal & Adieu Travel, we have taken the choice to ensure driver fatigue is managed accordingly and this is done by setting times for our tours which enable drivers to achieve adequate rest before long journeys.

Of late we have had requests from crew who wish to change the timings to those that suit them ( we understand that European flights land between 12.am and 1am and crew want to make the most of the time) we always recommend that the Taj Mahal tour pickup is no earlier than 6.30 am for the very reason is that drivers are well rested and their circadian clock is not out of sink.

We recently had a booking where the crew member insisted that they were picked up at 3am so they could return back to the hotel by midday. This required the driver to leave his house by 2.30 am to start the journey.

This crew member has since stated that they felt the journey was unsafe and the driver was unrested!
Also going to write negative reviews about us.

We as the service provider and customers have to take some responsibility in our choices. As an employer we did this by giving the driver a day off before the actual trip. Unfortunately the circadian clock does not work like this, I don't think anyone would disagree that waking up in the middle of the night is not going to be tiring?

If you are going to ask us to operate out of the safe times that we recommend? Then pls do understand fatigue can become an issue.

Hopefully this is a closed matter and going forward our safe and secure tours will continue without any future issues.

Firstly, we would like to thank all those crew who have supported us over the last five years. The last two years have been difficult for all of us.

Adieu Travel are extremely thankful that a number of crews have been using us to visit the Taj Mahal, city tours around Delhi, Mumbai and Chennai. Our prices are fully inclusive, with no hidden charges. We pride our selves with good and clear communication from start to finish, our tours are designed to work around you and not the other way round, as being flexible is key to ensuring you get the most out of your once in a lifetime experience.

As a responsible tour provider it’s imperative that it’s done as safely as possible at affordable prices. It’s no secret that India has some of the most dangerous roads in the world.

Many of the vehicles on Indian roads are simply not road worthy and are a accident waiting to happen.

With the influx of tourists this has also created a black market. Locals and friends of crews are advertising taxi and transport services that sadly are not legal or safe. We cannot emphasise enough how dangerous these vehicles are and sometimes the savings these individuals offer are no more than a few pounds.



We would always advise crew to use a tour operator who is registered with the Indian government and someone who uses a modern fleet of vehicles, these vehicles should have similar safety features that cars in UK/Europe would have as standard.

If local branded vehicles are being used, then this should set the alarm bells as these vehicles are local bottom end vehicles used by locals, in many cases they have no or very little safety features.

In India domestic vehicles do not have any type of testing to say whether a vehicle is road worthy or not. Any reputable tourist company will tend to use Japanese/European or American developed vehicles, which are no more than four- five years old, the exception of minibuses, which are force India and are derived from a Mercedes.

Before making any bookings, simple steps like checking if the tour operator has a website, displays government license registration details etc. This will help you ensure that you are booking a trip with someone who is registered.
