The Travel Trunk (T3) is the first dedicated lifestyle e-magazine on Northeast India (NE), sharing information and telling stories that have never been told before of the progressive eight siblings – seven sisters and a brother (Sikkim). NE is a paradise for foodies, adventure junkies, nature lovers, music enthusiasts, fashion conscious, history buffs, silk fabric fans, budding photographers, souv
enir collectors, to name a few. The region is large and diverse, and each state has its own rich and exclusive way of life. We came across friends, colleagues and others who wanted to know more about NE, but had very limited access to it. We saw an opportunity here, and realised that there is an immediate need for a dedicated platform that talks only about the region’s lifestyle. This, along with our hunger to make NE the most sought-after travel destination in future, gave The Travel Trunk (T3). Well, simply because 80% of Northeast is still unexplored. ‘Trunk’ signifies a locked box (in this case, the website www.thetraveltrunk.in), which when opened or explored, will explode with information and knowledge on Northeast India. Our aim is to educate people and engage them in conversations about the rich heritage, culture, music, tradition, vibrancy, people, history, food, tourism – all that make NE.
