Crazy Gypsies @

It was the first long duration (10 days) trip for the Crazy Gypsies, then known as Go Unlimited. We learnt a lot from our experiences and mishaps but only retain wonderful memories of the lovely trip. Day trip to Dighal : Saturday 09th Feb

Come winters and the Dighal wetlands on the Rohtak-Jhajjar road become home to a huge variety of birds. It is a must visit for those who love watching birds and nature. There are about 250 species of birds. There are more than 100 species are migrating birds here including some rare species.

Since the wetlands are close to land good photography opportunities are possible. It would be another wonderful opportunity for a day outing amidst nature and rare birds. So grab your Binoculars and Zoom lens a d lets go Birdie Hunting.

We will be guided by Rakesh Ahlawat from the area who is also an avid bird watcher and works on nature conservation. Rakesh works for Nature Conservation Foundation, an NGO dedicated to the conservation of environment and wildlife and also guides and facilitates bird-watchers visiting the area. Some of the birds spotted in the area during this season : northern shovelers, northern pintail, tufted duck, common pochard, red-crested pochard, white-tailed lapwing, common crane, common shelduck, ruddy shelduck, moustached warbler, white wagtail, Spanish sparrow, spotted redshank, common sandpiper, great bittern and glossy ibis.

Itinerary
6.30 AM:Assemble and car pool at Crazy Gypsy meeting point (Pack in breakfast and water)
8.30 AM : Reach Dighal
8.30 to 11.30 AM:Take a walk around the village with Rakesh Ahlawat, a birding expert. In between have Breakfast
13.30 PM: Reach Gurgaon
(If the group wants we can stop for a Dhaba lunch while returning).

This is the Baoli (Water Step Well) situated in Neemrana, Rajasthan. It lies a little further ahead than the fort. We'll be visiting this Baoli on the 30th of Dec 2018
