इस इतवार हमने सफदरजंग के मकबरे पे शिरकत की।
हमने उस दौर के किरदारों को सुना जो कभी अवध के चार चांद हुआ करते थे। हमारे किस्सागो ने लखनवी अंदाज में हमे उन किस्सों और कहानियों से रूबरू करवाया जो सफदरजंग के मकबरे के पत्थरों में दफ़न है, जैसे की नवाब साहब और बिरयानी का ठेला, किस्सा चर्खी नवाब का, लखनऊ की मशहूर तवायफ की कहानी, नक्ख़ास के कबूतर, लखनऊ के चायवालों की गुफ्तगू और शायरियां, केसरबाग की नोमाइश, नवाब वाजिदअली शाह के परीखाने का किस्सा और बहुत सी रोचक कहानियां। दिल्ली के जाड़े में हमारे कारवां ने दास्तां, कहवा और खजूर का लुफ्त उठाया। इतने कम समय में हमें इतनी मोहब्बत देने के लिए मुसाफिरों का तह दिल से शुक्रिया।

13th October 2023 was the 5th anniversary of Sair E Dilli. The day when we started our journey. Still we remember our first walk of Lal Kot in Mehrauli from where our story started and it is been 5 years. Time has passed so rapidly. CHOR MINAR

According to local legends, it was a 'tower of beheading', where the severed heads of thieves were displayed on spear through its 225 holes, to act as a deterrent to thieves. In case the heads exceeded the number of holes, the less important heads were piled in a pyramid outside the tower.

There are Marks of Cannon Balls on this gate...... This is one of the original gates of Shahjahanabad, the city built by the Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan in the 17th century..........There are many stories about the gates of Delhi........

Entrance Gate of Mahaldars Khan Garden built in 1710 A.D. Mahaldar Khan was the chief eu**ch at the time period of Mohammad Shah Rangeela. His real name was Gulam Nabi and had the post of Nazir. This structure has jharokas which seems to beautiful and well decorated.. This type of gardens are laid out near Grand Trunk Road near to Shahjahanabad.

We discussed history from 1051AD to 1316AD, specially we talked about the lost Emperor of Delhi Prithviraj Chauhan and powerful sultan Razia, Balban(blessed with good luck). And How Lal Qot came into existence and it's archaeological evidences.

Tracing the Djinns of Firozshah Kotla : Heritage Walk

This coming Sunday, we'll be walking on a unique trail to a fort, known as the city of djinns. It is said that the fort houses the center of djinns, where people come and ask their wishes to be fulfilled by the waseela (jack) of the djinns. They stick coins and write letters for the medium to ask their wishes.
Built by Firozshah Tughlaq in the year 1354CE, it has the ruins of a palace, a baoli, cells and the Asokan pillar stands tall as if a witness to the history that flown through here, like the Yamuna once did.

A walk to the 6th City "DEENPANAH"

Undoubtedly, Dilli Shehar always surprises us with its hidden secrets from the past. So,here we were to the 6th City of Delhi this Sunday deciphering many secrets from Indraprastha to New Delhi!

Changes we see from ancient Indraprastha to modern New Delhi, many rulers came and gone to the throne of Delhi, this place being the most crucial among all,
Yudhishthir to Akbar, Delhi was and is everyones heart's desire.

This fort witnessed the rise , fall and death of Mughal Emperor Humayun....
Stories and history cannot just be completed in a span of 2 3 hours, still we tried our best to unfold the history of Indraprastha.

Tracing The Trails of Northern Ridge : 1857 Revolt (गदर) Delhi, the ruling centre of many dynasties. Since 1857, the destiny of Delhi changed. A revolt started by rebel Indian soldiers, gave a big spark in the first war of Independence. Northern Ridge is the landmark of mutiny that took place between British East India Company and rebel Indian soldiers. SUFI BASANT CELEBRATION AT NIZAMUDDIN DARGAH The annual event of Sufi Basant falls on the third day of Jumada-al-awwal, the fifth month of the Islamic calendar. “This festival is celebrated in memory of the poet Amir Khusrow who dedicated his songs of spring to Khwaja Hazrat Nizamuddin Auliya. “According to popular belief, one day Hazrat Amir Khusrau saw some women dressed in yellow clothes and carrying mustard flowers joyfully going to offer the flowers to their deity on the occasion of Basant Panchami. Hazrat Nizamuddin Auliya was grieving his nephew and Amir Khusrau, in order to bring a smile to his spiritual preceptor’s face, dressed up in yellow and began singing a song.” Seeing his disciple clad in a yellow saree carrying mustard flowers brought a smile to the saint’s face.
