WHEN IS IT OK TO CLEAN UP LEAVES?

It's best to leave fallen leaves in your Farm permanently. But, if you must clean up leaves, wait until it's time to plant tomatoes outdoors - when low temperatures are reliably above 15 degrees C. (Check morning and night temperature too)

Why? Because bees and other tiny creatures use fallen leaves for protection from the cold. When it's below 15C, bees and other creatures need those leaves for protection.

Tiny, greyish aromatic seeds, Bhangjeera seeds are used as a spice and are also roasted and grinded to a paste, combined with garlic and green chillies to make a delicious chutney. They can also be mixed with rice and eaten raw. Roasted seeds are used with the himalayan rock salt to form flavoured salt. इगास #बग्वाल

दीपावली के ठीक 11 दिनों के बाद इगास आती है।

इगास के दिन सुबह से ही पकवान बनाए जाते हैं। गौशाला में चौपायों (गाय, बैल, भैसों) को पूरी, पकौड़ी दी जाती है। चौपायों के लिए विशेष प्रकार का हतिना (गेहूं, जौ, मँड़ुआ, चने और भट्ट से निर्मित आटा) को ढिंडा बनाकर खिलाया जाता है। टीका लगाया जाता है। उनके सींगों में तेल लगाया जाता है। उन्हें विशेष प्रकार से लाड़-प्यार, दुलार किया जाता है। एक तरह से देखा जाए तो उनकी विशेष प्रकार से पूजा की जाती है।

ये लोकगीत गया जाता है:

सुख करी भैलो, धर्म को द्वारी, भैलो।

धर्म की खोली, भैलो जै-जस करी

सूना का संगाड़ भैलो, रूपा को द्वार दे भैलो।।

खरक दे गौड़ी-भैंस्यों को, भैलो, खोड़ दे बाखर्यों को, भैलो

हर्रों-तर्यों करी, भैलो।

भैलो रे भैलो, खेला रे भैलो।

बग्वाल की राति खेला भैलो।।

बग्वाल की राति लछमी को बास

जगमग भैलो की हर जगा सुवास

स्वाला पकोड़ों की हुई च रस्याल

सबकु ऐन इनी रंगमती बग्वाल

नाच रे नाचा खेला रे भैलो।

अगनी की पूजा, मन करा उजालो

भैलो रे भैलो।।।

इस दिन को घर के कोठारों को नए अनाजों से भरने का शुभ दिन भी माना जाता है।

शाम को छिल्ला (चीड़ के पेड़ की लकड़ी से निर्मित होती हैं) को बबूल की रस्सियों से बांधकर भैलो बनाया जाता है। कुछ लकड़ियां तो लीसामय होती हैं और जो लीसामय नहीं होती हैं उनमें मिट्टी का तेल छिड़कते थे कभी हम। गाँव के सभी लोग भैलो खेलने के लिए गाँव से बाहर जाते थे। बग्वाल खेलने के लिए जहां गेहूं बोया जाना होता था वहां जाते थे और इगास खेलने के लिए फग्वाड सारी जाते थे फग्वाड सारी का अर्थ है कि जिन खेतों को 6 माह तक धान बोने के लिए कभी छोड़ा जाता था।

सर्दियों में बाजरा खाना अच्छा होता है, इसलिए आज हमने वर्ल्ड फूड डे के अवसर पर ऑर्गेनिक बाजरा निकलवाया है।

कुछ समय के लिए हमें गेंहू की रोटी की बजाय चने, मक्का और बाजरे की रोटी खानी चाहिए।

Food is a great source of pleasure and entertainment, but sometimes we can overindulge. if we return to the focus of eating mindfully we can reduce the amount food that's wasted and the number of people going to bed hungry. World Food Day serves as a reminder to refrain from overeating and to make choices that are ecologically sustainable.

How to tackle CLIMATE CHANGE?

हम अपने इको विलेज में अपना खुद खाना उगाने की सलाह देते है पर हम सब अपना खाना खुद उगा नही पाते ।
क्युकी हम किसी और काम में ज्यादा व्यस्त है। शायद पैसा कमाने में या करियर बनाने में।

लेकिन हम सभी अपना खाना बड़ी सावधानी से चुन सकते है, अपनी खाने की आदत और अच्छी बना सकते है ।

कैसे?

नीचे टेबल देख कर आपको पता पड़ेगा की सिर्फ खाना उगाने से हम तक आने में कितना कार्बन फुटप्रिंट या फुडप्रिंट्स पैदा होता है

क्लाइमेट चेंज जहाजों में बैठ कर बड़े बड़े लोग कई सालों से बैठक कर चुके है पर मौसम से सभी को समझ आ गया होगा की क्लाइमेट चेंज दिखने लगा है, हम सब उसे भुगत रहे है ।

अगर हम सिर्फ लोकल उगाया गया खाना ही खाए तो समुद्री जहाजों की संख्या आधी की जा सकती है।

अगली बार खाने का ऑर्डर देते समय छोटा सा बदलाव करे।

It was founded with the belief that the ecological systems make our life possible, and a deep sense of community (extending beyond humans) makes our life worth living, and that we should invest ourselves in actions that nurture what makes our life possible, and what makes our life with living. Anything on the contrary makes little sense.

As we take each step forward, allowing it to prepare us for the next, and willing to learn, here's to celebrating every moment!

हमारे देश के लिये मानसून एक जादुई घटना है। जादुई इसलिये क्योंकि मानसून के संग आने वाला बारिश का मौसम भले ही सिर्फ एक ऋतु के रूप में गिना जाता है, पर असल में यह हमारे देश की 6 ऋतुओं (वसन्त, ग्रीष्म, वर्षा, शरद, हेमन्त, शिशिर अर्थात पतझड़) को प्रभावित करने की हैसियत रखता है। वैसे तो वसन्त को ऋतुराज कहा जाता है परन्तु असलियत में मानसून यानी वर्षा इस ऋतु-चक्र की धुरी है। गर्मी से त्रस्त धरती को जब मानसून के दौरान बारिश की रिमझिम फुहारों का वरदान मिलता है तो प्रकृति जैसे नया श्रृंगार कर लेती है।

Rain is nature’s art; umbrella is man’s art. When you walk with your umbrella in a rainy day, you walk with a super art which is a combination of two different arts!
