ADI KAILASH
Adi Kailash popularly known as Adi Kailash also known as Chota Kailash and locally called as (Binjoti)by us Kutiyals.
ADI KAILASH (Jyolingkong) is a replica of Mt. Kailash and is said to be the Dwelling Place of Both lord Shiva and Ma Parvati.
It is believed that Ravana had meditated here in Adi Kailash and got blessings of the power of ten heads.
Adi Kailash lies in the Indo- Tibetan border of Uttrakhand. One amazing fact about Adi Kailash is it is facing Mount Kailash. They are facing each other. This can be witnessed from a place called Limpya Dhura or Limpaya pass.
This area is in Pithoragarh District of Uttrakhand, the area is inhabited by people of Sauka/Rung Community, they are also called Vyasis, They are believed to be the heirs of Vyas Rishiji.
This area has been and is a place of peace, tranquility, brotherhood and above all such a beautiful place it’s like heaven on earth. It’s so beautiful the picturesque landscape the snow clad mountains. One famous T.V anchor in his book has described/compared our land as “Sone Ke Pahad aur Chandi ki Nadiya”
In Adi Kailash you will get to see Parvati Mukut, Parvati Sarovar, Shiva Parvati temple and some kilometers away Gauri Kund in the lap of Adi Kailash. Jyolingkong is at an altitude of 14500 feet. I am happy to tell the readers that the temple in Jyolingkong was made by our village Mahila Sang under the guidance and personal initiative of my grand ma late Shanti Devi Kutiyal. Today Adi Kailash is become a favored destination and one of the reason is Shanti Devi Kutiyal. A book on Kailash by DIG ITBP Mr. Nambadia has been dedicated to my grandma late Shanti Devi Kutiyal.
ADI KAILASH lies in the Vyas valley.
AUM PARVAT.
The significance of Aum in Hinduism is very deep. Aum is believed to be the most powerful word for Hindus. It is the beginning of the process of life. The word Aum even the reverence is said to be Godliness....this is the power of Aum..
AUM PARVAT is a real mountain where AUM is visible engraved on the mountain and you can see the image of Aum in the mountain...the snow formation of Aum.
Aum Parvat from Gunji we take have to go to Kalapani and then 8 kms to Aum Parvat.
Gunji is again land of Vyasis and we have a Vyas temple at Manila near Gunji. The people in this village are all from Sauka community and most of the Saukas are well educated and in good jobs.
In Kalapani there is temple, which is now managed by the Army, and I won’t forget to mention that this temple was made by my father Late Shri Puran Singh Kutiyal who was a contractor for the Army, SPF and ITBP. It is believed that one of the source of the mighty Kali river is from here.
Nabi dang Aum Parvat is 9 kms from Kalapani, You can see Vyas Gufa at a distance mountain in Vyas Gufa Vyas ji is beleived to have sat on tapasya or may he lived..these days because of erosion the area is not reachable. A few years back an army team member was able to rapple to the cave and we can see a flag/dhwaj from distance.
Now about Aum Parvat, Aum is engraved on the mountain, the image of Aum made of ice/snow on the mountain. it’s a miracle of nature it is unbelievable but yet true. According to Hinduism even the sound of Aum is considered to be the most revered and next to Godliness. It’s a symbol of meditation a symbol of ultimate joy; it’s the life of all Hindus. Such is the power of Aum. Just a visit to this land will bring peace to your inner self.

About the beauty of the Yatra I want to tell you that you will be mesmerized by the beauty, the landscape, the steams, the waterfalls, the snow covered mountains…and on and on…Yes the API mountain and the Nepal Himalayas from Chialek. Also, Bhrama Parvat, near Adi Kailash seen from Nikurch. The Chakhani area near Kuti where you can see the history of Samudra manthan, The Sumchuma stream that flows in a period of three days is something amazing. These are among the many, wonderful and beautiful scenic beauty you will get to see in this land.
I am from Kuti village the land of Adi Kailash. Kuti got its name from Kunti Mata. It is believed that Kunti mata while going to heaven turned into a rock which can be seen from Kuti. The place where she has become a rock (It is believed that from where she turned into a rock Kailash Parvat is visible).
We have lamas in our village and when they meditate/pray to Kunti mata, they are blessed with the power and it is believed that they have control on nature. I have seen them control the rain... The power of the unknown. But this is performed only on special occasions. We have in our village Pandav Shila where it is believed the Pandavas lived there. There still exists, ruins of very well planned big houses. Also import place is Cha Khani where stories heard by us is during Samudra Manthan the evil and the good fought for Amrit and you can see the brains in the stream that flows in Chakha they say they are of evil and good the good have white and the evil red brain like material flowing in the stream.
About Sumchuma Stream which is mid way from Kuti to Adi Kailash. This stream is belieived to flow for three days in continuation and stop for three days.
I am proud that I am getting to serve my community by promoting tourism and to the tourist the best that needs to be given to them. We are the only agency with complete home stays village tourism.
