The consignments are booked at various parcel offices situated on the bus stand as well as the prominent locations of the cities. Proper markings are done on the parcels .If required, the services of packing are also provided. The parcel are been loaded properly on carriages of the buses & covered by tarpaulins. Wherever there are direct schedules the parcels are sent directly else are transshippe
d through the nearest center. Intimation of dispatch of goods is given to destination end franchisee through CUG network & thereby the destination franchisee unloads the goods properly. The goods received at various Parcel Offices are stacked properly. Intimation is given to the customer regarding arrival of the parcel & thus customer can collect parcel in shortest time. In view of the clock wise timetable of the MSRTC buses, the parcels can be delivered in committed time. On the study of the operations of the company, the management has come to a conclusion that computerization is required for smooth operation. The company has decided to computerize the operations in the entire state. At all the districts & major business centers computers along with broadband connections have been installed. Software has been developed by experts in consideration of the requirements of operations of the company. All the bookings, dispatch & delivery are now online. A SMS service is also introduced linked to the online services. Soon after booking, dispatch & receipt of consignment at destination the consignor & consignee are receiving SMS confirming status of the consignments. With the introduction of such services the customer can get the status of the consignments either online or by SMS sitting at his office. In order to have financial discipline the company it was decided to set up a team of Chartered Accountants for internal audit. The internal audit team is visiting all the branches with fixed intervals for the purpose of audit and submits the report to the Executive Directors in confidence. It was suggested to set up a flying squad which will visit various offices in Maharashtra surprisingly and check the operations and to report the discrepancies to the Executive Directors for improvement. To sum up, the company is growing fast not only in Maharashtra, but in the neighboring states too & days to come will setup its establishment in other states also. The company has proposed to have its own fleet of vehicles for carriage of bulk parcel from point to point and for micro interior deliveries infrastructure of the Corporations may be used.
