ABCD Exploration MD Bumoni Gogoi sailed from Bogibeel Bridge in his boat crafted from 1600 recycled plastic bottles. The purpose of the voyage was to raise awareness for our effort. ABCD Exploration owns Brahmaputra Pearl and will operate tours from Dibrugarh to Sivsagar, Majuli and Kaziranga National Park when local, national and international tourism blossoms again in Assam. During the first week of April 2021, ABCD Exploration sponsored the Upper Assam cultural team Birina Bihu in the Rang Basanta Festival in Guwahati. The group of local performers, pictured in front of our Brahmaputra Pearl river tour boat, took first place overall for best Bihu Husori team and second best Bihu team in the Ratibihu competition. ABCD Exploration was honored to have Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal at our ribbon cutting ceremony to inaugurate our Brahmaputra Pearl river tour boat. The ceremony took place on December 24, 2020. Co-founder Bumoni Gogoi (Dhiraj Bikash Gogoi) presented CM Sonowal with an authentic river boat model, built by our boat craftsmen, as a sign of gratitude and respect. Local officials were present as well as village elders. As part of our commitment to building close relationships with communities, ABCD Exploration participated in a series of friendly football matches. The event was organized by the local community to encourage children to get involved in sports to maintain a healthy lifestyle. February 14-16, 2020: ABCD Exploration was the primary sponsor of EKAYAN 2020. EKAYAN is a Social Work Student Convention organized by students and professors of the Centre of Social Work Studies at Dibrugarh University, Assam India. EKAYAN aims to provide an opportunity for students of social work to connect, exchange, compete and learn. EKAYAN 2020 witnessed an overwhelming participation from many institutes of North East India. ABCD Exploration co-founder Carol Weiss Pouchol acted as communication advisor and recruited speakers from UNESCO and Theia International to join the conference. ABCD Exploration celebrated Vishwakarma Puja aboard our SB Brahmaputra Pearl tour boat, which is close to completion. Our boat workers decorated the boat and a monk performed a traditional ceremony to respect Vishwakarma. The Hindu god, Vishwakarma, is believed to be the creator of the world, and is referred to as the divine architect. This day is celebrated with much enthusiasm by architects, engineers, as well as skilled labourers including, mechanics, factory workers, smiths, welders, industrial workers and craftsmen. On this day workers do not do any professional work and only worship their tools, offering prayers to Lord Vishwakarma to protect them, keep their livelihoods secure and to bring them success.
