*EVERYONE WHO WORKS OUTSIDE NAGALAND MUST REGISTER WITH GOVERNMENT: RIO*

https://nenow.in/north-east-news/nagaland/everyone-who-works-outside-nagaland-must-register-with-govt-rio.html

*Dimapur:* _29 May, 2020._

_Nagaland Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio on Friday said henceforth, anyone who plans to go and work outside Nagaland must register with the State Government._

_Rio said unless that is done, the Government will not be responsible for them. The Government will discuss and take a decision in this regard very soon, he said._

_Rio said this at his brief after visiting the industrial estate at Ganeshnagar here to take stock of the ongoing renovation works at the site which has been converted to COVID-19 Institutional Quarantine Centre._

_The infrastructures at the industrial estate had been left abandoned for several years as no potential Naga entrepreneurs came forward to stay and work there._

_Rio said accommodation for around 4,500 people, including at Ganeshnagar, has been set ready._

_Rio said the Government would support the Quarantinees at Ganeshnagar, who desire to stay in Nagaland and earn their living, by imparting motivational training on business entrepreneurship._

_Emphasizing on focusing in agriculture and allied sectors, entrepreneurship, sports and tourism in building the state’s economy, he a strategy group has been set up and is working on it._

_He added that the standard operating procedure would be reviewed during a Cabinet meeting on June 1._

_As more stranded Naga people are arriving from other states, accommodation is becoming a challenge, especially for Dimapur district. Out of the 18,000 plus Returnees, Dimapur district also has to shoulder the responsibility of housing more than 70 per cent of them._

_*“As a family we must all welcome them and also to those who are yet to arrive, let us welcome them with love,”* Rio urged._

_He termed the present Pandemic as human problem where one cannot go strictly by the rules._

_*“Every day, it keeps on changing as per the situation of that day,”* Rio said._

_He said COVID-19 is a Global Pandemic and that there should not be any blame game and social stigma attached._

_The State Cabinet at a meeting on May 19 decided to convert the industrial estate at Ganeshnagar into Institutional Quarantine Centre._

_The Nagaland police under the initiative of DGP John Longkumer gave complete facelift to the abandoned buildings, the renovation works of which started on May 22, 2020._

Dear people traveling back home,
Long post, but some very important points I share with you as a mother would.

# # # Remember this virus is suspended in the air and not just surfaces, so be mindful of that and enforce social distancing, washing and sanitising hands properly, sanitising the areas around you and protecting yourself and others around you.

***Here are a few tips you must remember to observe when you are coming back before and during the journey, because precaution is your best friend now.

1.Before leaving make sure you have all the things you will need during your journey. Some of them will be
- handsoap and hand sanitisers
- cleaning wipes more than one packet if getting small ones
- at least a dozen disposable gloves for use especially when you go to toilets and will be handling door k***s and taps. If not available get extra tissues
- face masks more than one
- dettol or savlon for disinfection of not only your seating area but even toilets
- tissue paper packets for face and nose
- kitchen paper towels to wipe the areas you will be occupying
- toilet paper because your quarantine area on arrival may not be provided with it
- vitamin c
- ginger and lemons to eat for extra vitamin C
- your own disposable cups, spoons
- fruits and nuts for sustenance
- boiled eggs
- biscuits
- at least some cooked tiffin like parathas and dry fried veggies for the start of your journey
- Cereal and milk small individual packs
- water most important
- your own bedsheets, pillow cases and towels aside from your regular toiletries
- carry music, movies and books to keep yourself occupied and maybe even a journal to write of your journey.
2. Please wear clothes that cover you fully, that means full sleeves and long pants and covered socks and shoes. It may be hot and uncomfortable, but its only for a few days
3. Cover your head. If you have long hair, braid it and cover it with a scarf or wear a cap.
4. Wear sun glasses to avoid touching your eyes often
5. Wear clothes that are easy to slip out of once you reach your destination and not carry any virus that may be stuck on your clothes to quarantined places.
6. Don’t be stupid and hang out like the idiots who gathered to sing in the train and be in each other’s space. Do not be afraid to ask people to move back to a safe distance. This is your life we are talking about.
7. Rest as much as you can and do not disturb others too
8. Play music, read, watch movies individually for now, it’s not being selfish, its being smart
9. Watch out for each other but take precautions when you are assisting others who may need help
10. Do not drink alcohol and get drunk and make yourself vulnerable and a nuisance to others around you.
11. Most important of all begin your journey with a prayer and reconnect with God throughout your journey. He is still the miracle worker.

P.S. Stay connected with family and those receiving you daily, it seasons your mind with relief.

ALL THE BEST AND SAFE JOURNEY! GOD BE WITH YOU ALL!
