h 1916 at Bhirung Raut Ki Gali. Dumraon is an old town (one of the oldest municipalities of Bihar) in Buxar district. This small town contains two Post Offices and their Pin Codes are 802119 & 802136. It is also one of the Oldest Princely States of India. It is famous for its ‘Mats’ and 'Dari'. The biggest Temple of Lord Krishna in Buxar District - Banke Bihariji Ka Mandir, Dumrejani Maee Ka Mandir & Kali Mandir are the main focuses of tourism and religious destinations. Horil shah was the Founder of this big town, and so it was earlier known as Horilnagar. Horilshah was the first ruler of this town who was a descendant of "Raja Bhoj of Dhar" and came from Ujjain. Dumraon Was a Princely State till the British invoked in and the then Maharaja of Dumraon signed an agreement with British and The Riyasat of Dumraon came under the rule of British. In 1947, after Independence, the Privy Purse issued to the then Maharaja of Dumraon and Dumraon became a part of the Independent India. Dumraon also played a significant role in the War of Freedom, (Kapilmuni, Harihar Prasad Gupta were some of the Freedom Fighters), Dumraon has one of the Oldest Municipalities of Bihar built by the Maharaja of Dumraon. Since it was founded by Horil Shah, so, it was a Major Medium of Export-Import from the very beginning and still It is the biggest Export-Import Market cm Educational Hub in the district which provides the overall Agricultural and Educational facilities to almost 0.5 million people from around 185 Villages. A place where the most promising and largely speaking regional language, Bhojpuri, belongs to. It is thoroughly used as a major conversation medium in almost 34 Districts of 4 States by 40 million people. This place witnessed the birth and very initial Cultural Development of Bhojpuri language. Besides, this place has produced many IAS, IPS, IFS and other Civil Service Officers. Raj High School, MU Girls High School, SM Women's College and DK College are some of the Prides of Dumraon. Raj High School and DK College, both were established in mid-19th century and since then, they kept on continuing the legacy. Dumraon Textiles Mill is one of the earlier Textile Mills in Bihar.
