๐Ÿšฉ Shabari lived in a small hut in Sage Matang's ashram in the forest. She was a great devotee of Shri Rama. Before he died, Sage Matang told her that her devotion would be rewarded & Shri Rama would visit her one day. Many years passed by & Shabri grew old. Each day, she cleaned her hut & the surroundings patiently waiting for Shri Rama to come & visit her.

๐Ÿšฉ Finally, one day, Rama & Laxmana stopped by the ashram in their search for Sita Mata, who had been kidnapped by Ravana. Shabri was overjoyed and took them to her hut. She washed their feet lovingly. She had collected berries in a bowl she had made with the leaves of a tree for Shri Rama. Shabri tasted each berries before giving it to Shri Rama.

๐Ÿšฉ After establishing Ramarajya, all the Gods felt it was the right time for Bhagwan Vishnu to return to His abode.

๐Ÿšฉ The Gods approached Yamaraj, who was unable to reach Shri Rama, because all the time He was guarded by Hanuman. Bhagwan Rama was well aware of this situation & decided to play a trick. Shri Ram intentionally dropped His ring in to the crack of the floor and asked Hanuman to fetch it.

๐Ÿšฉ Hanuman reduced his body size to that of a fly and made his way inside the crack and reached Patalaloka. There, he was greeted by the king of the serpents, who asked Hanuman the purpose of His visit. Hanuman explained everything to the serpent king. The serpent king took Hanuman to a room filled with Shri Rama's rings and asked Hanuman to pick any ring.

๐Ÿšฉ Hanuman was surprised, and He asked the serpent king about so many rings. The serpent king calmly replied, that each of the ring represents one Kalchakra. In every Kalchakra, there exists a Treta Yuga, in which Bhagwan Rama is born. Also in the same Treta Yuga, an ardent Bhakta, Shri Hanuman is also born. In every Treta Yuga, Shri Rama will drop His ring and a Hanuman will reach Patalaloka to fetch the ring. When Hanuman returns to earth, Shri Rama would be gone.

๐Ÿšฉ Hanuman, thus having known the importance of Kalchakra, lets go of His beloved Shri Rama.

Vali and Sugriva were brothers living in Kishkinda.Vali, the elder brother was the king of Kishkinda.A demon named Mayavi, attacked Kishkinda.Vali and Sugriva fought fiercely and chased the demon inside the cave.Sugriva stayed at the entrance of the cave, whereas Vali chased the demon inside the deep cave.Sugriva on seeing the blood oozing out of the cave, thought Vali had been killed by the demon. He thought if I seal the mouth of the cave before the demon chases me,I will be saved. Sugriva placed a huge boulder at the mouth of the cave and returned to Kishkinda.

Vali's son was very young to sit on the throne.Sugriva at the request of the subjects, was crowned as the King of Kishkinda.

Vali returned to the kingdom after some time and was furious to see Sugriva sitting on his throne.Vali chased Sugriva out of the kingdom thinking Sugriva had usurped his throne in his absence.Vali imprisoned Sugriva's wife.Sugriva sought shelter in the Rushyamukh mountain.

During the exile, Rama and Laxmana were passing by the mountain in search of Sita Mata.Hanuman suggested Sugriva to approach Rama and Laxmana for their help.Sugriva fell at Lord Rama's feet and narrated his woes and injustice meted out to
him.Lord Rama promised to help Sugriva.

With Lord Rama's blessings, Sugriva went to Kishkinda and challenged Vali in to a fight. Vali accepted the challenge and started to fight. They looked very much alike, so Lord Rama and Laxmana, who were hiding behind a tree, couldn't identify Vali from Sugriva. In order to recognise Vali from Sugriva, they put a garland on Sugriva to identify him.

Sugriva couldn't match Vali's might and was overpowered by Vali.Sensing the gravity of the situation, Lord Rama shot an arrow in Vali's direction and killed him.
Vali asked for forgiveness from Lord Rama and Sugriva, before he breathed his last.

๐ŸŒธWhy do we consider the lotus as special?

๐ŸŒผThe lotus is the symbol of truth, auspiciousness and beauty (satyam, shivam, sundaram). The Lord is also that nature and therefore, His various aspects are compared to a lotus ( i.e. lotus-eyes, lotus feet, lotus hands, the lotus of the heart etc.).

๐ŸŒผThe lotus blooms with the rising sun and close at night. Similarly, our minds open up and expand with the light of knowledge. The lotus grows even in slushy areas. It remains beautiful and untainted despite its surroundings, reminding us that we too can and should strive to remain pure and beautiful within, under all circumstances.

๐ŸŒธ๐ŸŒธThe lotus leaf never gets wet even though it is always in water. It symbolizes the man of wisdom (gyaani ) who remains ever joyous, unaffected by the world of sorrow and change. This is revealed in a shloka from the :

Brahmanyaadhaaya karmaani
Sangam tyaktvaa karoti yaha
Lipyate na sa paapena
Padma patram ivaambhasaa

๐ŸŒธMeaning -He who does actions, offering them to Brahman (the Supreme), abandoning attachment, is not tainted by sin, just as a lotus leaf remains unaffected by the water on it.

๐ŸŒธ It also symbolizes Brahmaloka, the abode of Lord Brahma. The auspicious sign of the ****ka is said to have evolved from the lotus

At the coronation ceremony of Lord Rama in Ayodhya, everyone was witnessing the joyous moment of Lord Rama seated on the throne. Sita Mata presented Hanuman with a pearl necklace which was made up of rarest of the rare pearls.Hanuman received the necklace only to break the pearls in the necklace with his teeth.Sita Mata and other members present in the ceremony were astonished at this behaviour of Hanuman.

Sita Mata asked Hanuman the reason behind the destruction of the pearls.Hanuman replied humbly that He indeed respects the necklace of pearls given to Him by Sita Mata.He explained that He doesn't keep anything which is devoid of Lord Rama. He was searching for Lord Rama in those pearls and He didn't find Lord Rama in those pearls and so they were useless to Him.

Sita Mata found this explanation amusing. She questioned Hanuman whether He keeps Lord Rama inside Him as well? Hearing this, Hanuman teared open His heart for everyone to see the Divine vision of Lord Rama and Sita Mata inside His heart.Every person in the court was dumbfounded by that visual.

Lord Rama stepped own from the throne and walked towards Hanuman to give Him a warm hug.Everyone understood that Hanuman not ony physically serves Lord Rama, but also He has surrendered His heart unconditionally to serve His beloved Lord.

He also send a messenger in the Kingdom of Mithila to give a message to King Janaka that,โ€ Handover the divine bow of Shiva to him along with his eldest daughter Sita.โ€ However, the King Janaka didnโ€™t give any respect to the wish of King Sudhanva and take a decision to fight with the king. Today, we will discuss about the story of breaking of Shivaโ€™s bow due to which Bhagwan Rama was able to marry Sita Maa. The story was discussed in the Balakanda of the Valmiki Ramayana and an important part of the epic. So, letโ€™s discuss the story.

King Janaka invited both Prince of Ayodhya in his Yagya as Shatananda concluded the story of Vishwamitra in the company of Sage and the two princes. The trio entered the Yagya of King Janaka and request him to show them the divine bow of Shiva. The King felt very happy regarding the request of the trio and discuss the story of the history connected to the bow before giving them the sight of the bow. The King told them that the bow is very ancient. The bow was put in the palace of King Janaka as a heritage by King Devraat. The bow was picked up by Bhagwan Shiva during the demolition of Dakshaโ€™s Yagya on the Devtas just because the Devtas didnโ€™t call Bhagwan Shiva in the Yagya. Bhagwan Shiva wanted his part but the Devtas denied him. He wanted to kill all Devtas but the Devtas praised him and he pardon everyone. Bhagwan Shiva dedicated that bow to Devtas from that moment and King Devraat put the bow in the palace as a heritage from that moment. He also discussed the story behind the birth of Sita Maa and told them that he took a vow that whoever picked up this bow will be married to his daughter Sita who took birth from the mother earth.

Some years ago, a lot of kings came to the palace of King Janaka just because they were interested in marrying Sita Maa but King Janaka told them that whoever picked up this bow will marry Sita. All the kings tried too much but not able to pick that bow and the King rejected all of them. He also requested them to go to their kingdoms just because they were not able to fulfill his vow but the Kings got enraged by the words of King Janaka and surrounded his Janapada with their army. The king fought with them for so many days but when all his weapons were exhausted in the war then he worshipped the Devtas so that they can help them in the war. The Devtas felt satisfied with his worship and provided him Chaturangini army so that he can defeat all the Adharmic kings. The army helped the King to defeat all the Kings and they left the Janapada.

Thereafter, the King demonstrated the bow in front of the trio. He also told that no celestial body can picked up that bow so what should we talk about the humans? Sage Vishwamitra told Bhagwan Rama to watch the bow carefully. Bhagwan Rama made his way near the case and open the case to watch the bow. He took permission from the sage to give a try to pick up the bow. The Sage give him the permission to pick up the bow. The Prince hold the bow slightly and picked up the bow like a child. Thereafter, he tied the knot of the bow but when pulled the knot near to his ears then the bow broke from between with a voice of a thunderbolt. All of them assembled on the place dropped on the ground except Sage Vishwamitra, Bhagwan Rama, Laxman and King Janaka.

The King felt very happy after seeing the capacity of Bhagwan Rama and took a decision to marry his Daughter Sita Maa with Bhagwan Rama. He send his ministers along with some Army to Ayodhya by taking the permission of Sage Vishwamitra to tell the King Dashratha about the great achievement of Prince Rama.
