Did you know that Pushpa Hans Kapoor, a talented playback singer and actor from Fazilka, was the one who beautifully sang the female voice to the mesmerizing poems of legendary Punjabi poet Shiv Kumar Batalvi? 🌟
In the 1940s and 1950s, Pushpa Hans Kapoor made a remarkable contribution to the Hindi and Punjabi film industries. Her melodious voice captivated audiences, and she gained recognition for her unforgettable songs in the 1950 Hindi film "Sheesh Mahal" directed by Sohrab Modi. Additionally, her acting skills shone in V. Shantaram's 1949 film "Apna Desh." 🎬
Pushpa Hans Kapoor's talent was not limited to films alone. She was also a recipient of the prestigious Padma Shri, the fourth highest civilian award in India, recognizing her exceptional contributions to the world of art and entertainment. 🏆
One of her iconic achievements was recording the famous Punjabi song "Chan kithan gujaari eyi raat ve" for the Punjabi movie "Chaman" in 1948. This rendition became a timeless classic, etching her name in the hearts of Punjabi music lovers. 🎶
Moreover, Pushpa Hans Kapoor had a deep association with the renowned poet Shiv Kumar Batalvi. She had the honor of being the first person to sing his captivating poems, even after his untimely demise in 1975. Her rendition of his famous poem "Peedan Da Praga" continues to resonate with listeners, evoking powerful emotions. 💔

The people of in Punjab, India, are grateful for the recognition they have received for putting their town on the tourism map. They would like to thank the Punjab Government's "Rangla Punjab" Initiative, Punjab Tourism, and CM Bhagwant Maan for their support. They are also thankful for the efforts made by the District Administration.
The upcoming Punjab Handicraft Festival 2023, happening from November 5th to 12th in Fazilka, is a testament to their hard work. This festival will showcase the rich handicraft heritage of Punjab, boost the local economy, and promote tourism. The Punjabi commentary of Sunil Taneja, commonly known as Sunil Bhaji, during the current IPL Season 2023 is winning the hearts of cricket fans all over the world. He has become a beloved personality in the world of cricket commentary thanks to his exuberant and vivacious approach, which has injected an extra spark of excitement into each game.
Sunil is a skilled commentator, but he is not the only one to come from the lovely town of Fazilka. As the first female commentator in the history of the IPL, Mandira Bedi, a native of Fazilka, has made her mark in the world of cricket commentary. She was just getting started in the pitch when she provided informative and fascinating analysis during the 2003 ICC Cricket World Cups.
