One of the things we take pride in is our associations with small women-run businesses. is an organisation based in Kumaly and they concentrate on women’s menstrual hygiene and the promotion of sustainable menstrual products. They also work on activities that generate income for rural women. The soaps by are one such initiative and our guests are in love with these handmade soaps. Thank you and Shyamala Aunty for these handmade love.

The game is played with a board and small seeds, such as tamarind seeds or cowrie shells. It is believed to have originated over 2,000 years ago during the Tamil Sangam period. The game is played by two players, who take turns sowing seeds on the board and capturing the opponent's seeds. Pallanguzhi is not just a game, but also a part of the cultural heritage and tradition in southern India. It is commonly played during festivals and special occasions and has various regional variations.

Luisa was one of our long-staying guests who stayed with us for 7 days. She is 76 and travels around the world alone
after her husband’s death. She came to Kochi after a month’s vacation in the Maldives. She was not happy with her stay in Maldives and was in a disturbed mood when she reached Kochi. We were also very confused at first thinking about how to make her happy.

One thing we understood from hosting people for the past three years is that everyone is looking for basic comforts, clean rooms and toilets, comfort food, and conversation with the hosts. Most people are more than happy if you provide these. Automatically she lightened up after the first day’s dinner and thus started a beautiful friendship. She loves Tuk-Tuk rides, long conversations, omelettes and dosa with Jam, cotton dresses, poppodoms, dragon fruit and a lot more things.

Today she left for Varanasi after a week’s stay at Govindamangalam and we are missing her here already. Hope that our paths cross will again 🤞🏻

It was a pleasure hosting Victor Wu from California. We talked a lot about the cultural differences between India and USA. He wants to create a Travel company after his retirement which takes guests to his home country, Taiwan. He also has plans to write a Novel.

It's also a pleasure to see two of your guests get bonded over a dinner table. Louisiana from Italy and Victor exchanged a lot of their travel stories. Since both of them have plans to travel to Europe next year, they made a pact that they will try to meet there.

Lynn and Chris, Amanda and David, two couples from Australia stayed with us for a week. They loved everything about Kerala, our beautiful landscapes, our food, our hospitality and most interestingly our Red Wine and Beers too. They said our Beer and Wine are better than what they get in Australia.

We have had long conversations over breakfasts and dinner tables about the culture, food and climate change too.

It's a good example of . They have been travelling together all around the world for many years, and last year they went to Australia.

Ravi with his friends from France. They worked together in Kenya for 25 years and this is Gerard and Catherine’s third time in India. They travelled extensively through Africa while they were there and shared a lot of stories about their time there. It was an absolute pleasure hosting them.
