Following a recent flood, our village road has been severed from the outside world for the past five months. The rising waters damaged crucial infrastructure, leaving us isolated. Despite numerous pleas , there has been no tangible progress. This isolation hampers essential services, affecting our daily lives, education, and healthcare access. Urgent action is needed to restore the road and reconnect our community. The prolonged disconnect raises concerns about our safety and well-being. We hope that authorities recognize the severity of the situation and expedite the necessary repairs to bring life back to normal in our isolated village.

Cheers to all the lachenpas who rescued around 300 tourist vechicles stuck at Lachen , North Sikkim due to heavy snowfall
Without help of any military.

Thanks to Lachen Hotel and Homestay association.
And Thanks especially to all the lachenpas who was there rescuing tousrit as much as possible in that extreme climate till 7 pm .

Thangu Valley is located at an altitude of 13000 ft. Thangu is about 30 kms North of Lachen. Since it is located at an high altitude, the place remains covered with snow for most of the time.
Especially from the month of October to March, the land is shrouded with the white blanket of snow.
Thangu is a small village where many visitors usually acclimatize before they proceed to Gurudongmar Tso, Muguthang, Jachu valley etc. It's alpine meadows are dotted with wooden houses and army camps. The calm water of Teesta flowing through the valley presents a fantastic contrast. Mostly inhabited by the nomadic tribes, the valley of thangu trespassed and crisscrossed by a number of streams and rivulets, the most important of them are Chopta chu, Thangu Chu and Lassie Chu.
