Lingtam, the first village on the Silk Route after Rongli in Sikkim side, is a peaceful spot with great weather. It's surrounded by hills, has a river called Bakhuter Khola, and sits at 5000 feet above sea level. Tourists love its sunshine and pleasant climate all year round. Lingtam features two monasteries: the old one with cool wall paintings and a newer, more spacious monastery with a nice meditation hall. Lingtam is the ideal spot for an overnight stay before starting your Silk Route tour. It's perfect for getting used to the surroundings and gearing up for the adventure ahead.

Good news from CHUNGTHANG!

The Bailey Bridge constructed by Army personnel is now complete. Vehicle trials went well, and after today's official opening, locals can start using it. Tourist access will be decided by the Sikkim government. Kindly have patience till then.

I'm deeply saddened to share the current situation in Sikkim. Due to continuous rain, a cloud burst at Lhonak Glacial Lake, leading to significant challenges.

The Teesta River has surged past its danger level due to the cloud burst.
Some parts of North and East Sikkim are already flooded, affecting bridges, roads, and some houses near the river belt.
The NH10 highway connecting Bengal and Sikkim has suffered extensive damage.

The weather forecast predicts heavy rain for the next day. If you planned to visit Sikkim in the next few days, please consider postponing your trip and staying updated with local information.
