At a distance of 6 kms from Namchi Taxi Stand and 22 km from Ravangla, Samdruptse is an epic hill situated in Namchi, Sikkim. It is one of the popular places of pilgrimage in South Sikkim and among the must visit Namchi Tourist Places.

Situated at an altitude of 2134 m, Samdruptse Hill is surmounted by a giant statue of Guru Padmasambhava who is the patron saint of Sikkim. At 148 feet, this is the tallest statue of Guru Padmasambhava in the world. Studded with gold that glitters when sun rays fall on it, it looks magnificent with the setting of the Kanchenjunga Hills against the blue painted sky. The foundation stone of the statue was laid in 1997 by His Holiness Dalai Lama and completed in 2004.

It is a peaceful temple of Sai Baba, located on the way to Helipad at Namchi South Sikkim. The ambience is very peaceful. Take a look at the exterior design which makes this Sai temple quite different from the existing Sai Baba temple you find in other parts of India. As you enter the temple, you can feel the spiritual aura of the place. Don’t miss out to see the surrounding work on the walls inside the temple. The bright golden color of the exterior walls makes the temple visible from a distance.

Sikkim in India becomes one of the coolest destinations to visit in 2024.

It’s good news for India! Recently National Geographic conducted a survey, wherein Sikkim in northeast India has made it to the Coolest Places to Visit in the new year 2024. The list comprises 30 destinations from across the globe and Sikkim is the only Indian destination.

While most of the destinations to make it to the list are from Europe, seeing Sikkim as the only Indian place brings in a sense of happiness. It is an incredible achievement as Sikkim was one of the only three places picked in Asia along with Tainan in Taiwan and Xi-an in China.

The Chenrezig statue and skywalk are a tourist attraction in Pelling, West Sikkim district, Sikkim. The complex houses a 137 ft tall statue of the bodhisattva Chenrezig, the tallest Chenrezig statue in the world. The place is also the location of India's first glass skywalk.
