Recently,
A Government initiative at our village for the village socio economic rural development.

Gratitude to Deputy Commissioner Gurdaspur, SDM, XEN, DEO, BDPO, Sarpanch and staff membersr for creating this space for the villagers and taking upon themselves to bring forward various initiatives for the development of our village regarding firstly narega unpaid wages, schemes for villagers to make steady and safe houses ( katcha to Pakka houses) sanitation, drainage, waterworks, waste management , toilets in the villagers homes, roads repair and street lighting to make a few … not only our village but also the surrounding villages. Looking forward to fruition of the various projects underway.

Best Tourism Village Recognition - 2023
Central Nodal Agency for Rural Tourism under the aegis of the Ministry of Tourism, Government of India launched Best Tourism Village Competition for villages committed to the promotion and preservation of their cultural heritage and sustainable development through tourism.
The evaluation was done based on various parameters in line with UNWTO BTV competition, which include Cultural and Natural Resources, Promotion and Conservation
of Cultural Resources, Economic Sustainability, Social Sustainability, Environmental Sustainability, Tourism Development, and Value Chain Integration amongst others.
35 Rural Tourism Villages have been recognized with 5, 10 and 20 villages in Gold, Silver, and Bronze.

Our village Nawanpind Sardaran is in this rooster and recognized with bronze.
The village land was bought by Sardar Narain Singh and his son, our great grandfather Sardar Bahadur Beant Singh built and founded the village around 1886. The generations forward have maintained and continue to facilitate growth in all infrastructures including but not limited to cultural, agricultural, educational, economical, historical, natural. The Kothi, village stay has maintained conscious tourism since 2010.

A special mention, The initiative to enter the village in this competition was undertaken by my sister Gurmeet.

The date of Sangrand in May 2022 is Saturday, 14 May 2022 and this is the Jeth month Sangrand (Jeth di Sangrand). Desi month Jeth (ਜੇਠ) will start on this date. Jeth is the third month of an year according to the desi calendar and the Nanakshahi calendar. This month falls in the peak summer season and the months of Jeth and Haarh are the hottest months in Punjab and the other parts of India.

Dhadi Jatha (Jatha means 'a team' or a group) is an ensemble or band of Dhadis which usually consists of three or four Dhadis: one Sarangi master/player, two dhadd players and one telling the story by a lecture.[5] The singers sing one by one or together like chorus according to the lyrics. The Dhadis today are the integral part of Sikh and Punjabi music.[6] The tradition has broadened its repertoire, including religious compositions, heroic ballads, folklores, folk love stories, history, romance and other types of folk songs.[5][6] Normally, the Jathas are known by the leader's name; for example, Dhadi Jatha of Nirmal Singh Noor.
