Here’s a glimpse of the incredible latticework on the semi-circular arch of the Sidi Saiyyed Mosque in Ahmedabad.

The jali pictured here is of the ‘Tree of Life’, an artistic representation of immortality according to Islamic mythology. Popularly referred to as Sidi Saiyyed Ni Jali, this motif has now become the symbol of Ahmedabad. The photograph doesn’t do justice to the exquisite craftsmanship behind this masterpiece – we can’t help but keep admiring it!

We’ve got some good news to share!

Starting today, international passengers traveling to India no longer have to fill the self declaration form on the Air Suvidha portal before their scheduled date of travel. Also, travelers now do not have to submit a vaccination certificate or submit a negative RT-PCR test report.

A 17th-century classical dance-drama involved in a "story play" genre of art, Kathakali is distinguished by its elaborately colorful make-up, costumes and face masks.

Fun fact: Whilst performing this dance-drama, the actors never speak but instead use hand gestures, expressions and rhythmic dancing in place of dialogue. You must witness a performance when in Kerala!

Built in Indo-Saracenic style, the Mysuru Palace (located in the southern Indian state of Karnataka) is one of the largest palaces in the country. It was designed by British architect Henry Irwin and is a treasure house of exquisite carvings and works of art from all over the world – take our word for it!

The best time to visit the palace is during the festival of Dussehra (Dasara) when it is dramatically lit up every evening during the festivities. In fact, the city of Mysuru (Mysore) is transformed into a gigantic fairground in the period leading up to the festival with concerts, dance performances and cultural events taking place.

The outstanding 7th-century group of monuments carved out of living rock in Mahabalipuram have left us spellbound!

The complex consists of a cluster of cave temples, an enormous bas-relief depicting scenes from the Indian epic - the Mahabharata, as well as an amphitheater of chariot-shaped temples. The highlight for us is the Shore temple - an architectural marvel, an absolute visual treat and a must see!

The exquisite Tomb of Itmad-ud-Daulah in Agra is one of the monuments believed to be the inspiration behind the Taj Mahal and is the first Mughal structure that was built completely from marble..

Also known as the ‘Baby Taj Mahal’, it’s arguably more delicate in appearance compared to its famous neighbor (Taj Mahal) and is known for its particularly finely carved marble lattice screens and pietra dura (stone inlay work).
