AZERBAIJAN GROUP TOUR
(GLIMPSES OF DAY 5, GULLUTEPE TRAIL):
Another highlight of SHEIKI is its numerous trails that range from easy to moderate to tough, depending on one’s appetite and capability. Gulluteppe or Hill of Flowers is a famous 8km trail that is scenic, not far from town and offers bird’s eye views all around. Full with dense foliage and mushrooms of wild variety that come in all shapes, colors and sizes, this one is a must for immersing in Caucusus Mountain’s beauty.
The hike to Güllü Tepe view point is not too physically demanding because of the distance and the ups and downs. From the starting point, follow the signs and continue through the neighborhoods. At the top of the mountain, you continue for 650 m on a flat plain and finally continue on the road to the left. The winding path goes down to the forest strip and continues through the forest.

(GLIMPSES OF DAY 4 IN SHEIKI):
With an excellent local cuisine, vernacular architecture, curious locals and a pleasant climate, Sheki is definitely the place to go if you want to experience a part of Azerbaijan that is not Baku.
Sheki was an important stop on the Silk Route. There is evidence of this period all around the city, in the silk factories and mulberry groves and most notably in the monumental stone traders’ inns or caravanserais that have survived until today.
Backlit by the Greater Caucasus and with a river running directly through the city, Sheki is a classic mountain city. The area has its own unique culture, fabulous cuisine, and a people who are known throughout Azerbaijan for their good humour.
Then there is some connection between Sheiki's deserted roads and haunted looks with old Russian LADA cars. They are all around and still running strong since 20-40 years. it was fun to ride one in downtown just for fun.

GOKARNA (18-21 FEB):
Our Feb trip to Gokarna exceeded expectations of all the participants. Though the trip had many surprises and local experiences thrown in, one of the highlights was the GOKARNA TRAIL HIKE that takes one to five beautiful beaches, each one better than the rest.
Starting from Velankanni beach, the trail further covers the famous OM beach, KUDLE beach, PARADISE beach and HALF MOON beach. All these are separated by green forest cover, that requires a friendly hike.
