Day – 01 – Arrival at Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport (GAU) / Guwahati Railway Station (GHY) and Transfer to Shillong – Guest will be received by our representative and assist in boarding the vehicle for forwarding journey to Shillong – It is a drive of nearly 03½ hours – 04 hours drive over a distance of approximately 135 kilometers – On the way visit Umium Lake – Umiam Lake is a reservoir located in the hills 15 kilometers from Shillong in the state of Meghalaya, India – It is spread over 220 square kilometers – Next drive to Shillong- The rolling hills around the town reminded the European settlers of Scotland – Hence known as the “Scotland of the East – Stop at Umium lake & Enjoy the view – Reach Shillong & Check in Hotel – Evening free to stroll around the area / Police Bazaar – Night stay in Shillong
Day – 02 – Excursion to Mawsynram – Mawphlang & Cherrapunjee [Sohra] – Morning after breakfast drive to Mawphlang – Next one has to explore the Sacred Forest (40 kilometers drive) – Maw”- means stone, ”phlang” – means grassy – The forest is named after the grassy monolith found there – It is one of the many sacred forests in Meghalaya – also drive further to Mawsynram, world’s wettest place (20 kilometers) – Mawsynram is at present the wettest place in India, with an average annual rainfall of 11802.4 mm (Average of the 1974-2022 period) – Explore the area and later drive to Cherrapunjee – Evening free to stroll around the area – Night stay in Cherrapunjee
Day – 03 – Cherrapunjee Sightseeing – Morning after breakfast excursion to Cherrapunjee – Visit Dwan Syiem view point, Noh Kalikai falls, Mawsmai caves, Seven Sister falls, Eco park, etc – The swift-flowing rivers and streams flow in a southerly direction to the plains – Other attractions are Caves & view of Bangladesh (Neighbouring country) – Visit Nohkalikai Falls, the world’s fourth-tallest waterfall, Mawsmai falls, Thangkharang Thangkharang Park, Mawsmai cave which is one of the 100 old limestone caves in Meghalaya – Dainthlen Falls, Thankarang Park and Krem Falls are also nearby – Evening free to stroll around the area – Night stay in Cherrapunjee
Day – 04 – Excursion to Dawki – Mawlynnong & Transfer to Shillong – Early morning breakfast – Next check out from Cherrapunjee – Drive to Dawki – It is 85 kilometers and is nearly 03 hours drive by road – Visit the Indo-Bangla border and enjoy the boat ride at Umngot River – (Boating Is Optional) – Post lunch proceed to Mawllynnong village (One of the cleanest village) and also trek for 10 minutes to visit the Single Decker Living Root Bridge in Riwai village – Later proceed to Shillong and before reaching enroutevisit Elephant Falls – Evening free to stroll around the area or shopping center – There are few Restaurant & Bar to hang around – Night stay in Shillong
Day – 05 – Excursion to Krang Shuri & Laitlum – Morning after breakfast & start for the excursion to Krang Shuri waterfall – A drive of around 02 hours & reach the waterfall point, from here one has to trek a bit to reach the waterfall, listen to water sound & insects crackling down – Reach to the waterfall by 15 minutes (Normal walk timing) – Enjoy the blue waterfall & enjoy the scenic – Completion get back to vehicle & drive to Laitlum Grand Canyon – which in literal sense means “The End of Hills” or “The End of The World” – Nestled in the embrace of majestic hills and valleys, The Laitlum Canyons in one such spot from where the vast, verdant and fascinating panorama of Meghalaya could be viewed and admired – Drive back to Shillong – Evening leisure – Overnight stay at Shillong
Day – 06 – Transfer to Tezpur – The distance is approximately 245 kilometers and is nearly 06 hours – Morning breakfast and start the transfer drive – Lying on the northern banks of Brahmaputra – This place is surrounded by lush tea gardens, it has an endless stretch of the paddy fields – The place offers visitors with a view of the picturesque landscape, snow clad Himalayan Mountains and various temples – Other attraction of the region includes Agnigarh, Bura-Chapori Wildlife Sanctuary, 3015-meter long Kalia Bhomora Setu Bridge, Nameri National Park [Stay is required to explore the place] – Check into hotel – Day at rest or leisure – Evening one is free to stroll around the area or visit the local market – Night stay at Tezpur
Day – 07 – Transfer to Dirang – The distance is approximately 200 kilometers and is nearly 06 hours – Early morning breakfast and start the transfer – The drive is via Kalakthang Road, Will cross the Bomdila Town and follow the road to Dirang – Dirang is an unexplored gem, hidden away in the wilderness of Arunachal Pradesh, located at 4910 feet – It is 42 kilometers away from Bomdila – Upon arrival at Dirang visit the Dirang Dzong (which was the administrative centre of the Monpa and Tibetan culture long time ago), visit Dirang Monastery – Check into you hotel – Day at rest or leisure – Evening one is free to stroll around the area or visit the local market – Night stay at Dirang
Day – 08 – Transfer to Tawang – The distance is approximately 135 kilometers and is nearly 06 hours – Tawang (4 hrs journey but will include enroute sightseeing) Driving for 04½ hours reach Sella Pass (located at 13476 feet) – Nearby is Paradise Lake – Next stop at Jaswant Garh – It is a war memorial stands in memory of rifleman Jaswant Singh Rawat, Mahavir Chakra Awarded (Posthumous) of the 4th Battalion of Garhwal Rifles Infantry Regiment – Jaswant showed his valor by fighting and holding the invading Chinese back for 72 hours all alone during the 1962 India-China war and remained at his post at an altitude of about 10,000 feet before succumbing to an enemy bullet during that bloody winter war – Next stop is Nurarang Falls or Jung Falls – A cup of tea and munches continue to Tawang [02 hours drive] – Arrive Tawang and check into hotel – Evening at leisure – Night stay at Tawang
Day – 09 – Tawang Local Sightseeing – Tawang is situated 448 kilometers north-west of state capital Itanagar at an elevation of approximately 3048 metres – The town lies to the north of the Tawang Chu river valley, roughly 10 miles south of the Line of Actual Control with China – Morning breakfast start sightseeing – Start in the beautiful land of the Monpa tribes with the “Galden Namgyel Lhatse” Monastery – One of the largest Lamaseries of Mahayana sect in Asia – The birthplace of the 6th Dalai Lama, the Monastery is 400 years old and is adorned with the 18 feet high statue of Lord Buddha – ‘The Land of Dawn-lit Mountains’ at 3500 meters gives you unparallel purity of nature – Visit the monastery, the War Memorial, Apple Orchard, Hot water spring, etc – Anni Gompa, Craft Center, Tawang War Memorial – Evening at leisure – Night stay at Tawang
Day- 10 – Excursion to Bumla Pass – Today early morning after breakfast visit Bumlapass – It’s an India – China border area. Foreigners are not allowed to visit this area – It’s an ideal place to play with snowballs (Sightseeing at Bumla-pass is subject to approval by local administration and weather conditions and also note that transportation will be extra with Tata Sumo or similar – On the way to Bumla-pass visit Pangang-Teng-Tso Lake – It’s one of the most famous lakes of Arunachal Pradesh, is located at a distance of 18 kilometers from Tawang Township. Popularly known as P.T. Tso Lake is one of the ideal spots for picnics – During the winter months, the lake remains entirely frozen – Next visit Shonga-Tser Lake – Shonga-Tser Lake is located at a distance of 42 kilometers from Tawang – After the shooting of the famous Bollywood movie Koyla, this lake is also known as Madhuri Lake – Shonga-Tser Lake was formed in the aftermath of the earthquake, which occurred in 1950 – Before 1950, the entire lake area was reserved for grassland – The scenic beauty of this lake attracts photographers from all across the world – After completion, return to the hotel/ resort and overnight stay at Tawang
Day – 11 – Transfer to Bomdila – Morning breakfast – Next drive back to Bomdila – Bomdilla is approximately 185 kilometres and is a drive of roughly 06 hours – It is inhabited by the Monpa, Sherdukpen, Miji, Bugun (Khowa) and Aka tribes – On the way stop at Gontse Rabgyaling Monastery (Upper Gonpa) & Thub-Chog Gatsel Ling Monastery (Lower Gonpa) – Morning / Evening one can visit the View Point – Bomdila is the headquarters of West Kameng district in the state of Arunachal Pradesh in India and is the home of the Monpa, Aka, Miji, Sherdukpen, and Bogun tribes – Bomdila offers wonderfully panoramic view of Himalayan landscapes and snow clad ranges & it captivates the beauty of nature – It has an average elevation of 2415 metres i.e. 7923 feet – The Eaglenest Wildlife Sanctuary is very near Bomdila – Tourism is new to Bomdila because of lack of infrastructure of roads in this region yet one will have decent hotels with tibetian and local food – The Bomdila pass offers views of Kangto and Gorichen Peaks, the highest in the state – On the way visit GRL Tibetan Buddhist Monastery – Guests can visit the village in the afternoon – Explore the markets and do a little shopping – One can also visit apple orchards and orchid farms if on season – Evening just stroll around the Village – Overnight stay in Bomdila
Day – 12 – Transfer to Bhalukpong – The distance is approximately 100 kilometers and is nearly 03 hours – Morning after breakfast check out from Bomdila Hotel and drive straight to Bhalukpong – On arrival visit Tipi Orchard Centre and look at the variety of Orchids found in the region collected at one place, later take a stopover at some scenic spots as per choice for photography also tea break – Bhalukpung is a small town located along the southern reaches of the Himalayas in West Kameng district of Arunachal Pradesh – The town is located at 213 meters – It is 100 kilometers from Bomdila, 52 kilometers from Tezpur and 05 kilometers from Tipi – It lies along the Kameng river – Angling and river rafting are the principal tourist activities here – Tourist attractions in Bhalukpung include the Pakhui Game Sanctuary and Tipi Orchidarium – Evening one can roam around the settlement – Night stay at Bhalukpong
Day – 13 – Transfer to Guwahati – The distance is approximately 250 kilometers and is nearly 06 hours – Morning breakfast – Next check out from hotel and proceed to Guwahati – En Route drive to Tezpur (02 hours) and visit Mahabhairava Temple and Agni Ghar and continue your drive further to Guwahati (04 hours) – Guwahati – Situated on the southern bank of the mighty Brahmaputra river in Kamrup district of Assam – [Optional] In the evening set out on a River cruise to watch the sun go down the Brahmaputra River and feel why the river is locally called ‘Luit’- the color of blood (Optional) – Evening free to stroll around the area or visit the local market – Overnight stay at Guwahati
Day – 14 – Kamakhya, Nabagraha, Umananda & Balaji Temple – Early morning breakfast – Start your sightseeing tour and visit Kamakhya temple – Situated atop the Nilachal Hills, the foremost shrine of Assam, Kamakhya is an ancient seat of Tantrik & Shakti cults of Hinduism – The temple offers grandstand view of the river Brahmaputra and its surroundings – The reigning deity here is Goddess Parvati (Sati) – Legend has it that the body of sati was dismembered and it is believed that of the pieces of her body which were scattered across the land and fell on the Nilachal hill – The temple here is called Yoni Pith – The shrine finds mention in the inscription is of King Samudragupta’s pillar at Allahabad – A rush of devotees throngs the temple during the Ambubachi Puja – Evening free [Option of Brahmaputra Cruise] – Overnight stay at Guwahati
Day – 15 – Departure Transfer to Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport (GAU) / Guwahati Railway Station (GHY) – Early morning breakfast – Few facts about Assam worth mentioning is the ancient cities of Pragjyotishpura and Durjaya (North Guwahati) were the capitals of the ancient state of Kamarupa under the Varman and Pala dynasties – Many ancient Hindu temples are in the city, giving it the name City Of Temples”- Dispur, the capital of Assam, is in the circuit city region located within Guwahati and is the seat of the Government of Assam – Four major trading center and places of interest for tourist are Pan Bazaar, Paltan Bazaar, Fancy Bazaar, and Uzan Bazaar – After breakfast drive to Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport (GAU) / Guwahati Railway Station (GHY) – Forwarding Journey
