The Guwahati Address by Centre Point is set as a Temple of Hospitality amidst the hustle and bustle of the Guwahati urbanscape. The atmosphere inside exudes an aura of calm and spiritual serenity that grasps you in a warm embrace. As you walk past the high stone walls marking the entrance and amble under the high pitch pyramidical glass porch, you step up hand-cut granite stone risers which leads to a glass wall marking the door. Entering the lobby you are greeted by a forest of handsome circular wooden columns standing as sentinels on either side. While the floor of the hall is a meandering stream of soft marble from Sicily, the ceiling is a river of colours of stained glass (imported from USA) flowing past atop a series of wooden trusses intricately crafted, creating a surreal interpretation of mother nature. This ultimately leads on to the sanctum, a concierge crafted in a curve of stones, tabled by a flowing teak top. The eye then stops examining the pinnacle of this axis, the centre of this gravity, manifest in a painting of a traditional Bihu dancer, done in graphic art effect. In the restaurant which is a dining area with an attached bar one is stuck by an collage of frames of various textiles of the region, juxtaposed one to the other on the wall, presiding over the diners, the ambience is further enhanced by a beautiful designer copper chandelier hanging on the other end. The wide irregular corridor of the room floor is a path with colourful lights adorning the walls. Upon entering the room one is struck by the rustic charm of hand crafted teak and local timber furniture. Hewn by local artisans, local stone and woodwork encompass you to make your epicurean experience a unique one. Architecture and decor that breeds calm let's you relax and unwind. A veritable oasis of serenity we are here to let you retreat and rejuvenate yourself through our various services. A 50 seater banquet hall is also available along with the Café Shillong that specialises in pan-asian and continental dishes. A Tea Lounge that pays homage to Assam's tea production heritage while encouraging new tea producers across the North East will entice and educate your taste buds on what this part of India can offer.
