Dubdi Monastery

𝐃𝐮𝐛𝐝𝐢 𝐌𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐲 -

The Chogyar Namgyal established the first monastery known as the Dubdi Monastery in 1701, at Yuksom in Sikkim, which is part of Buddhist religious pilgrimage circuit involving the Norbugang Chorten, Pemayangtse Monastery, the Rabdentse ruins, the Sanga Choeling Monastery, the Khecheopalri Lake and the Tashiding.

The monastery is a two-storeyed structure made of stone. It is situated at an altitude of 2,100 m and has an elaborately painted interior.

It was such a blessing to have them all to our small village Tashiding in our Sikkim Mikchung Homestay. All the traditional NAUMATI BAJA (Nine musical Instruments) is a group of nine traditional musical instruments played in Nepal and Himalayan region of Sikkim Darjeeling which is played in auspicious occasions like wedding or some good day. And the MARUNI DANCE which is one of the oldest and famous dance.
Programme end with a prayer they bless us at last.
