কালিজ ভ্যালি নামকরণ করা হয়েছে এক বিড়াল প্রজাতির পাখি কালিজের নামে। যদিও এখন সেইভাবে এখানে কালিজ পাখির দেখা পাওয়া যায় না, তবে এই গ্রামটির সৌন্দর্যতা আপনাদেরকে মুগ্ধ করবেই। দুটো দিনের ছুটি নিয়ে চলে আসুন কালিজ ভ্যালি, ফিরবেন এক নতুন রোমাঞ্চকর অভিজ্ঞতা সঙ্গে নিয়ে। উত্তরবঙ্গের পাহাড় মানেই কি শুধু কাঞ্চনজঙ্ঘা?, পাহাড় মানে কিন্তু আরও অনেক কিছু। যেমন - একটু নির্জনতার সঙ্গে বারান্দায় বসে পাহাড় এর নৈসর্গিকতা কে অনুভব করতে চান বা বুনো মুরগীর ডানা ঝাপটানোর শব্দ, অথবা আবার বুনো খরগোসের লুকোচুরি দেখতে চান, কিংবা সূর্যাস্তের সময় আকাশ আর পাহাড়ের ঢালের আকাশের রং এর অভিমানী খেলা দেখা, আবার সন্ধ্যা নাবার পরে লেপার্ডের রোমাঞ্চকর আওয়াজ, এই সবই পাবেন কালিজ ভ্যালি পাহাড়ি গ্ৰামে। প্রকৃতির মাঝে প্রিয়জনের সাথে যারা নিরিবিলিতে ছুটি কাটানোর জন্য একটি ইউনিক জায়গা খুঁজছেন, তাদের জন্য এই ছোট্ট পাহাড়ী গ্রামটি একটি আদর্শ জায়গা হতে পারে।

—-- তাকদাহ টিনচুলে হোমস্টে ------

এই হোমস্টেটি তাকদাহ এবং টিনচুলের একদম মাঝখানে অবস্থিত, এটির এক কিলোমিটার সামনে তাকদাহ এবং এক কিলোমিটার পিছনে টিনচুলে। কোলাহল এবং দূষণমুক্ত এই গ্রামটি দুদিনের ছুটি কাটানোর জন্য সব দিক থেকেই আদর্শ। দার্জিলিং থেকে মাত্র 30 কিলোমিটার দূরে অবস্থিত পাহাড়ি গ্রাম - তাকদাহ এবং তিনচুলে। শান্ত পরিবেশ আর প্রচুর প্রাকৃতিক সৌন্দর্যে ভরপুর এই গ্রামটি দার্জিলিং পাহাড়ের খুব পরিচিত একটি অফবিট জায়গা হয়ে উঠেছে। "তিনচুলে" শব্দের অর্থ "তিনটি চুলা"। এই স্থানের নামকরণ হয়েছে তিনটি পাহাড়ের চুলাের মতো আকৃতির কারণে। চারদিকে চা বাগানের বিস্তীর্ণ বাগান। পাহাড়, জঙ্গল, এবং চা বাগান- সব মিলেমিশে এটি একটি মনোমুগ্ধকর গ্রাম। এই শান্ত ছোট্ট পাহাড়ি গ্রামটি তার সৌন্দর্যতার কারণে বর্তমানে পর্যটকদের কাছে খুবই পরিচিত নাম। তাই যারা এখনো গ্রামটি ঘুরে দেখেননি তাদেরকে গ্রামটি দেখার জন্য আমাদের তরফ থেকে আমন্ত্রণ রইল। এখানের কোন সিজন বা অক্সিজেন হয় না, আপনারা এখানে সারা বছরই বেড়াতে আসতে পারেন।

দার্জিলিং জেলার একটি ছোট্টো গ্ৰাম ঋশিহাট। শহরের কোলাহল থেকে নিরিবিলিতে প্রিয়জনদের সাথে ছুটি কাটানোর জন্য এটি একটি আদর্শ জায়গা। দিনের বেলার কাঞ্চনজঙ্ঘা এবং রাত্রিবেলার দার্জিলিং শহরের ভিউ আপনাকে স্বপ্নের জগতে নিয়ে যাবে। পাহাড়ের খাঁজ দিয়ে এঁকেবেঁকে বয়ে চলেছে নানান নাম না জানা নদী। চারদিকে চা বাগানের বিস্তীর্ণ বাগান। পাহাড়, জঙ্গল, নদী- সব মিলেমিশে এ যেন এক মায়াবী গ্রাম। এই শান্ত ছোট্ট পাহাড়ি গ্রামটি এখনও অনেকটাই সাধারণ পর্যটকদের কাছে অপরিচিত। দার্জিলিং শহর থেকে ঋশিহাটে দূরত্ব মাত্র ১০ কিলোমিটার। তাই যারা দার্জিলিং উপভোগ করতে চান অথচ দার্জিলিংয়ের কোলাহল কে এভোয়েড করতে চান তাদের জন্য এটি একটি দারুণ অপশন। এখানে এখনো সেই ভাবে কোন হোটেল গড়ে ওঠেনি। এখানের কোন সিজন বা অক্সিজেন হয় না, আপনারা এখানে সারা বছরই বেড়াতে আসতে পারেন।

----- টুকভার টি হোমস্টে ------

দার্জিলিং টাউন থেকে মাত্র ৮ কিলোমিটার দূরে হোমস্টেটি চা বাগানের মধ্যে ও সিকিমের রাজ্য সীমান্তে অবস্থিত। দার্জিলিং শহর থেকে সিকিম রাজ্যের সীমানা পর্যন্ত প্রায় ২২ কিলোমিটার প্রসারিত ৫ টি বিভাগ নিয়ে গঠিত এই বাগানটি দার্জিলিংয়ের অন্যতম বৃহত্তম চা বাগান। এটি দার্জিলিংয়ের কাছেই অবস্থিত, যে কেউ এখানে থেকে সহজেই দার্জিলিংয়ের ম্যাল এবং সাইটসিইং গুলি ঘুরে দেখতে পারেন। সিকিমের জোরেথ্যাং এখান থেকে মাত্র ২০ কিলোমিটার দূরে অবস্থিত। বিজনবাড়ি এখান থেকে খুব কাছে, আপনারা চাইলে এখান থেকে বিজন বাড়ি খুব সহজেই ঘুরে আসতে পারবেন। এখান থেকে কয়েক কিলোমিটার দূরে বাদামতম-আরেকটি সুন্দর চা বাগান। এখান থেকে রঙ্গীত নদীতে মাছ ধরা বা এই নদীর ধারে পিকনিকের ব্যবস্থা করা যেতে পারে। আকাশ পরিস্কার থাকলে এই হোমস্টে থেকেই কাঞ্চনজঙ্ঘা পরিষ্কারভাবে দেখা যায়।
