We at IIT Hyderabad focus not on just academics but on sports with full enthusiasm by organizing intra college competitions, sports meet with Pan IIT alumni and other colleges in Hyderabad. We also participate with much enthusiasm, the Inter IIT sports meet, an annual sport event conducted for all IITs and similar institutes.

, with the support of MoE (HE), Govt. of India, through two SPARC projects, has started a Hands-on training program to create competent Human Resources in the field of Semiconductor manufacturing. About 620 Undergraduate students from various IITs/NITs and other universities and engineering colleges joined the program. This program has 3 phases, the Phase-1 is a one-week online workshop, wherein lectures are delivered by IITH faculty and other experts from India, Taiwan and USA. Shortlisted students from this workshop will undergo a 3-week hands on training at IITH Clean rooms (Phase-2 from June 24). After further shortlisting from Phase-2, 25 students each will be sent to the semiconductor labs in Purdue University, USA and NTHU, Taiwan for a 2-week hands on training (Phase-3 from July 22). This program will be conducted regularly every quarter to get about 200 students trained in the next 2 years.

Entrepreneurship Talk Series on “Hard Things and Mental Toughness in Startups” to commemorate World Creativity and Innovation Day featuring the esteemed speaker Dr. Shin Sakane, CEO & CSMO GFIT Inc. Japan. The lecture underscored the importance of maintaining both physical and mental well-being amidst the demanding startup environment, while also stressing the crucial role of effective team management in driving success. Dr. Sakane delved into practical strategies for overcoming common barriers encountered by startups, including human resource limitations, time constraints, and financial challenges. Where competitors from academia and industries across the world were tasked with simulating the most cost-effective production of wire rods —a crucial component in steel cords for car tires—by leveraging SteelUniversity's electric arc furnace and secondary steelmaking simulators.

In all previous versions, students from Europe, the Americas, South Korea, and China won the title. This is the first world championship title for participants from Indian Academia."
