Fighting COVID-19 has always been a Team Canada effort and it continues to be one as we move into the recovery phase.

Yesterday, our government announced an agreement with the provinces and territories that will see over $19 billion invested in protecting the health of Canadians, getting people safely back to work, and preparing for a potential second wave.

This Safe Restart Agreement for the next six months includes investments in priority areas, including:

Together, as a country, we’re laying the groundwork for our economic recovery.

Prime Minister Trudeau has announced additional measures to help small and medium sized businesses and entrepreneurs.

Including:
➡️ An increase in wage subsidies to 75%
➡️ Canada Emergency Business Account - a $40,000 loan (interest free for the first year)
➡️$12.5 billion of extra support through Export Development Canada and Business Development Canada
➡️ GST and HST deferral for eligible businesses
➡️ The Bank of Canada has cut interest rates to 0.25%

Exemptions to travel restrictions for foreign nationals who are coming to Canada as temporary foreign workers, some international students and approved permanent residents who haven’t landed are now in effect. If you’re exempt, you can now travel to Canada.

When you arrive in Canada, you must isolate for 14 days even if you have no symptoms. This is mandatory. Before you travel, you will need to go through health screening protocols.
