Thank you Elizeth for coming all the way from Brazil.

Elizeth runs a company in Brazil called Amigos do cha` (Friends meet at tea). She has been promoting tea and encouraging people about tea culture. She wanted to learn about mixology and tea based cocktails.

5 months ago she called me to say she wanted to learn mixology, i thought she must joking, who would plan such a thing from Brazil. Fast-forward....she did make it here and learnt the basics of bartending and the art of mixing today.

This goes to show a couple of things -
1.Where there is a will, there is a way &
2.You are never too old to learn.

I feel very happy i could contribute, share my knowledge & experience and be a part of her journey.

I wish her the very best.

Know your Whisky brand?

MONKEY SHOULDER

- it is a vatted or blended malt Scotch.

- made by combining 3 single speyside malt owned by William Grant & Sons (Balvenie, Glenfiddich & Kininvie).

- Batch 27 on the label means, it is made by combing 9 casks each of the 3 single malts mentioned above.

Why the name?

The traditional malt whisky making process, barley while being malted is turned by hand by malt men using large heavy malt shovels. Due to this, the malt men would develop a strain injury which had a tendency to cause their arm to hang down a bit like a monkey's, so the name 'monkey shoulder'.
