The building of the Ram temple in Ayodhya fulfils a decades-long Hindu nationalist pledge. Many Hindus believe the Babri mosque was built by Muslim invaders on the ruins of a temple where the Hindu god was born. The fort city of Kalinger was built in the 10th century by the rulers of the Rajput Chandela dynasty. The same one who built the temples of Khajuraho and the palaces of Orcha. Но вы задумывались,почему? Это связано с персонажем индийских мифов-Нанди. Он был другом и помощником одного из главных богов индуизма- Шивы. А так же его ваханой-то есть животным,используемым для передвижения.
Нанди был рожден из пламени. Один мудрец совершил множество аскез и молитв и попросил у богов послать ему бессмертное дитя. Шива совершил церемонию огня,и на свет явился мальчик,которого и назвали Нанди.
В дальнейшем,Шива спас мальчика от смерти,превратив в наполовину быка,наполовину человека. И Нанди отплатил ему сполна, выпив яд змея Васуки,желавшего убить Шиву и захватить мир,чем уберег его от смерти.
Для индийцев бык является символом плодородия, уверенности, огромной силы. Грозный облик помощника является обманчивым – сам Нанди отличается добротой и чуткостью. Индуисты верят, что этот священный бык всегда готов помочь людям.
