Kumarakom!

One of the most beautiful villages in God’s own country, Kumarakom is surrounded by numerous flowing lakes and rich green forests. This cluster of islands lying on the bank of Vembanad lake in Kerala’s backwaters. The half portion of the village is covered by lakes and the rest is used for agriculture, especially paddy fields which can be seen everywhere. Kumarakom bird sanctuary is one of the famous in Kerala with varieties of migratory birds. The Vembanad Lake offers stunning views of the backwaters amidst coconut trees and mangrove forests.
