Ottanthullal is a solo performance combining dance, drama and recitation. This art form is performed only in Kerala.

Thullal was introduced in the 18th century by the famous poet Kunchan Nambiar. Among the classical performing arts of Kerala, Thullal is distinct for its simplicity of presentation, wit and humour.

Kunchan Nambiar used it as a medium to protest against the prevalent socio-political structure and prejudices of the society in his time.
