Kochi- gaggle of islands
A gaggle of islands interconnected by ferries. This lovely seaside city is flanked by the Western Ghats on the east and the Arabian Sea on the west. Its proximity to the equator, the sea and the mountains provide a rich experience. The cosmopolitan town has upmarket stores, art galleries and some of the finest heritage accommodations. In a true vintage-meets-future fashion, pubs, restaurants, shopping hubs and futuristic stores crowd Ernakulum, Jew Town and Fort Kochi. Beaches, temples and heritage sites marking their presence too. Kochi is also an important place to see Kathakali and Kalarippayattu performances.
Munnar- halcyon hill station
The halcyon hill station Munnar is famous for its tea estates. Exotic rich greenery and bumpy peaks are the mark for this place. It is also home to endemic and highly endangered species like the Nilgiris Thar and the Neelakurinji. It is situated on the banks of three rivers- Madupetti, Nallathanni and Periavaru which bless it with natural view. The Eravikulam National Park, Salim Ali Bird Sanctuary and tea plantations are its major attractions.
Thekkady- Home to Tiger Reserve
Thekkady is a great way to enjoy a primeval forest vacation. Periyar National Park- country's largest Tiger Reserve, is a major attraction. Murikaddy is located around 5 km from the city and is famous for coffee and spices plantations. Mangala Devi Temple, located at an altitude of 1337 opens only on the Chitra Pournami Festival. The place where you can enjoy bamboo rafting in the watershed area of Mullaiperiyar Dam, hiking, night trek in the wilderness and in the midst of the wilderness. The vast stretches of spice gardens and various adventure sports also attract people. The day break ride in the boat within the sanctuary spotting wild elephants, bison, wild boars, various kinds of birds, etc. increase one’s cheerfulness. Chellar Kovil is another area located nearby with a lot of scenic waterfalls.
Alleppey- Venice of the East
Alleppey is also popular for its Houseboat cruises. These boats pass through the serene backwaters. A perfect site for green paddy fields, beautiful avifauna and witness the life of locals in Kerala. Bordering the Laccadive Sea which is known for its wide network of interlinking, canals of palm trees along the edge with addition of rejuvenating Ayurveda center. Towards the shore lies the Alleppey beach - Arabian Sea, a beautiful example of the gems found along the Malabar Coast. Uniquely traditional snake boat race in the months of August and September can also be watched.
Kovalam- Beaches and Shopping
Kovalam is coastal town located near from Trivandrum. Kovalam is spot with resorts and Ayurveda massage centers. It's famous for three adjacent crescent-shaped shallow water and low tidal beaches. Samudra Beach, Lighthouse beach and Hawa beach/Eve's Beach are highlight of this town. Kovalam means a ‘grove of coconut trees', and the town is filled with these palms.
Kanyakumari- The land of three seas
Kanyakumari is a coastal town of Tamil Nadu. Kanyakumari has major tourist attraction because it is centers of religion, art and culture. The only place in India where one can see the sunrise and sunset at the same beach. Kanyakumari excite tourists with the numerous options of eating with authentic South Indian food, with seafood and coconuts. Temples and churches have been one of the major reasons to attract tourist all year around. Thiruvalluvar Statue, Bhagavathy Amman Temple, Vivekananda Rock Memorial are major tourist spot.
Madurai- city in form of Lotus
Madurai is considered as the cultural capital of Tamil Nadu. Madurai is constructed in the form of a lotus and has been ruled longest time in history by Pandya dynasty. Madurai is popularly called Thoonga Nagaram, the city that never sleeps. Madurai is known for Meenakshi Amman Temple, dedicated to the goddess Meenakshi derived from the word’s mina “fish" and akshi "eyes". The important old temples dedicated to Lord Muruga located on a hillock is approximately 8 km from the city.
Rameshwaram- bridge by loard rama
Rameswaram is the closest point to reach Sri Lanka from India. Rameshwaram is consider as one of the holiest places in India which is located on a beautiful island. Hindu mythology says, this is the place where Lord Rama created a bridge across the sea. The Ramanathaswamy Temple houses the longest corridor in the world, renowned for magnificent prakaras and massive sculptured pillars on either side. The Five-faced Hanuman Temple holds the floating stone which was used to build the bridge during the war between Lord Rama and King Lankesh. Agniteertham, sacred waters and devotee perform poojas for their ancestors.
