Sittong or Sitong is a "KhasMahal" in the Kurseong division of the Darjeeling district. It is not one village, but a cluster of villages in a large area known as Sittong Khasmahal. The place has become famous among tourists as it is the heart of the orange-growing countryside of Darjeeling hills. However, Sittong has much more to offer to tourists apart from its oranges. Nature is at its pristine best and bestowed Sittong with its bounty. The area is popular among nature lovers as nature is pristine and visitors can enjoy the beauty of nature unaffected by the vices of modern tourism. The place is also quite close to NJP / Bagdogra arrival point which makes it a convenient start or end point of your tour.

The Sittong area is very famous for its orange cultivation, during the winter months the entire area turns orange with its orange gardens. Tourists find the gardens and their products highly attractive.

Within the Sittong Khasmahal area, you may visit the Sittong church, there was a very old bamboo church here which has now been constructed into a brick-and-mortar building. The place is nicely located with a view of the surrounding hills.

There is a very old Monastery in the Upper Sittong made mostly of Bamboo and Mud, this monastery and the ground next to it is an ideal place to view the Kanchenjunga range at its full glory.
Jogighat at lower sittong is a bridge over the Riyang river. This is a common picnic spot for the locals, tourists may also find the small stream and the bridge ideal spot for rejuvenating the soul.

Dzongu lies in the North district of Sikkim sitting cosily in between the steep mountains and the beautiful valleys just at the last piece of land before the mighty Himalayas start their reigning territory. The place is almost virgin yet untouched by commercialization and materialism inhabited by the original native population of Sikkim – the Lepchas. The territory very lovingly nurtures both the human and the natural habitation amidst the forest groves, cascading waterfalls and the demure villagers. The territory was designated as a special reserve for the Lepcha community since 1960 when Sikkim was still a kingdom ruled by Chogyal Palden Thondup Namgyal. The place perhaps remains the last place where Lepcha traditions and culture are still followed and the ancient animistic rituals are followed. We thankful to Sikkim Govt for giving us oppertunity to shoot their lepcha's traditional festival Namprikdang Namsoong which take place in the place called Namprikdag in da end of dec. the coronavirus might have its origins in the caves of Yunnan province, but make no mistake: nature did not create this crisis, we did. When we encroach on the natural world, we do more than cause environmental damage. The huge economic cost of the coronavirus pandemic is an illustration of a larger truth: we pay dearly when we destroy nature.
We have seen what happens when we make nature our enemy. If we instead make it our ally, helping us to help ourselves and in doing so create healthy societies, resilient economies and thriving businesses, we will have learnt the greatest lesson from this terrible period. The result will be a world that is not just safer, healthier and more equitable, but one that is prosperous too.

While 2020 will forever be remembered as a year of pandemic, what will follow remains for now within our hands.
